Because it says things like 'arising together' and 'because of being together in an instant.' If you assert that cause and effect are not simultaneous, then it is unreasonable to establish that the one who instructs and the one who is instructed are only simultaneous. That arising together does not occur in one or two moments, but continuously occurs as long as the produced fruit exists. How is this manifested? When sprouts, stems, and stalks of rice and other fruits are growing, if the stream of their own seed is absent, then they will remain in that state only, and their characteristics will not develop further, because there is no stream of their own seed. For example, like rice in chaff. If you say that it develops from the cause of the previous one of the same kind, so there is no fault, then it has already been said that the previous and subsequent cannot be cause and effect. If that is the case, how is it possible since the seed is not seen in the stage of the sprout? Because it is the nature of the power of the seed stream, it is impossible to say that it is the same or different from the sprout. Therefore, the seed is not an object of manifestation, but from the reasoning mentioned earlier, it is established that there is a seed stream even at the time of sprouts and so on. Among them, external seeds, if they do not encounter obstacles, continue until the final stage when their fruit is fully ripened, and when the fruit is fully ripened, the seed stream also ceases. If they encounter obstacles, then whenever they encounter them, the seed stream ceases, and when the seed stream ceases, the fruit remains in that state or declines, but it does not develop or expand further. For internal seeds, the habitual patterns of the limbs of existence continue until their fully ripened fruit reaches the final stage. The habitual pattern of self-grasping continues until the antidote arises. Among them, the aspects included in what is to be abandoned by seeing cease when the path of seeing arises, and what is to be abandoned by meditation ceases in the vajra-like samadhi.

Ma. When the wisdom of the eighth bhumi arises, it ceases. The predispositions of manifestation exist for the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas in the realm of nirvana without remainder, while for the Bodhisattvas, they cease after the vajra-like samadhi. Thus, the outer and inner seeds arise continuously. Although they arise continuously, not everything arises from them, because these seeds are each determined to have the ability to produce specific fruits. Although determined, fruits do not arise at all times, because the production of fruit depends on cooperating conditions, and these conditions are sometimes not apparent. These seeds do not arise from causelessness or from dissimilar causes, because the inner seeds are accomplished by the all-afflictive dharmas that generate lineage, and the outer seeds do not arise from their own produced fruits. For example, the barley that arises from a barley seed again becomes the seed of other barley, so seeds have no beginning. Showing how these seeds act on the fruit, as it is said: The outer and inner seeds, Are considered to be generating and projecting. Because unplanted death is projecting, Like an arrow not falling in between. Therefore, these outer and inner seeds perform the function of generating on some of their own fruits, and on some they perform the function of projecting. What is the meaning of generating and projecting? If the energy of the cause is near to existence, it arises, and if it is not, it does not arise, which is called the generating of the cause. Even if the energy of the cause is not near to existence, but the fruit remains for a while due to the influence of the cause having preceded it, this is called the projecting of it. So, on what does it perform the function of generating, and on what does it perform the function of projecting? The outer seeds, from the initial sprout onwards, until the final ripening of the fruit, perform the function of generating, because if there is no continuous succession of seeds, from the sprout and so on until the fruit is fully ripened, it will not increase more and more. Thus it has been said. If practiced, one abides.
