Indeed, enlightenment is of one nature. In the sutras, it says, "Buddha is omniscient, and omniscience is Buddha." Enlightenment is omniscience, and omniscience is enlightenment. The purpose is to abandon the attachment to the idea that the Buddha knows all knowable things. The second is to instruct about the Dharma Jewel. Instruction: To whom? To the Dharma. How? By the method of not straying from the two truths, that all dharmas are without inherent existence in the ultimate sense. Why is it that showing all dharmas to be without inherent existence is instructing about the Dharma? Here, the Dharma is that which causes one to be free from attachment, the nature of the truth of the path, and the three aspects of omniscience. By showing that it is without inherent existence, the Dharma that becomes the teaching of the Dharma Jewel is also the basis, the antidote, and all aspects included in the realm of the three aspects of omniscience, the dharmas included by these. The purpose is that when the three aspects of object, antidote, and aspect are shown to be without inherent existence, then the nature of the Dharma Jewel, which is the subject, having realized that the three omnisciences are without inherent existence, is to abandon the attachment that the Dharma is the supreme freedom from attachment. The sutra says: "When a great bodhisattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, one should not say that form is real, nor should one say that it is unreal." And so on, showing the basis to be without inherent existence. "When a great bodhisattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, one should not practice the Perfection of Wisdom for the sake of the Perfection of Generosity." And so on, showing the antidote. "Shariputra, when a great bodhisattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom in this way, the evil one will not find an opportunity." And so on, showing the Dharma of the aspect to be without inherent existence through the gate of eleven benefits. The third is to instruct about the Sangha Jewel. Instruction: To whom? To the Sangha. How? By the method of not straying from the two truths, that bodhisattvas, noble ones, learners, and non-returners should enter by realizing that there is no birth in the ultimate sense, in this way giving a prophecy. Because wisdom focuses on enlightenment and compassion focuses on sentient beings, therefore, bodhisattvas are noble because they have gone far beyond the ground of ordinary beings, they are learners because they are engaged in the activities of the three trainings, and they are non-returners because they are certain to attain perfect enlightenment. Thus,

So, how many types of Sangha are there? The basis of division is threefold, based on abiding in the result, and fourfold based on entering the result, thus dividing into seven types of individuals, plus the Pratyekabuddha, making eight in total. If divided by the four requisites, wouldn't it become eight types of individuals? There is no fault, because here the Arhat is not included in the Sangha Jewel. The reason is that the Arhat belongs to the Buddha Jewel. The number of divisions is actually reduced to twenty. The reason for the division is: due to dull faculties and (sharp faculties) etc., and the differences in sharp faculties entering the result, abiding in the result, ascending, etc. The nature of the divisions is: five types of Stream-enterers, three types of Once-returners, ten types of Non-returners, Arhats, and Pratyekabuddhas, etc. Fourth, the antidote to laziness that delights in evil deeds is the advice not to be attached: Advice. To whom? To those who delight in evil deeds. How to advise? By not deviating from the two truths, regarding what should be clung to, the activities of the three doors of body, speech, and mind, advise by showing that they are without inherent existence in the ultimate truth. The necessity is: due to generating diligence, for the meaning of the divisions of bodhicitta as previously explained, by diligently practicing and striving, some with dull faculties will develop strong attachment, this is to counteract that attachment. With what to counteract? By the practitioner's own fault of truly appearing to cling to the activities of the three doors of body, speech, and mind. The sutra is: By practicing the Great Vehicle Prajnaparamita, whether with body, speech, or mind, from miserliness to the mind of wrong wisdom, the body etc. that are clung to are unobtainable. Fifth, the antidote to sluggish laziness is the advice of non-complacency: Advice. To whom? To the sluggishly lazy. How to advise? By not deviating from the two truths, if one clings to things from the aggregates to complete enlightenment as real, one will become weary, therefore advise by showing the way of not clinging to them as real. The necessity is: due to generating diligence, for the meaning as previously explained, even for a short time, one thinks it is long, for those with a fearful nature, some become weary of practice
