Therefore, there is no other worldly realm above this. Thus, the sphere of infinite space is: at the time of application, the perception of form and resistance is completely destroyed, and at the time of the main practice, the single-pointedness of mind that manifests, together with its concomitants. The sphere of infinite consciousness is: the consciousness that thinks "space is infinite," also thinking "consciousness is also infinite," thereby manifesting that. The sphere of nothingness is: thinking "there is nothing to be grasped," thereby manifesting that. The sphere of neither perception nor non-perception is: perception is disease, boils, and arrow wounds. Non-perception is complete delusion. Having perception that is neither existent nor non-existent is peaceful and excellent, thus thinking, thereby manifesting the single-pointedness of mind together with its concomitants. Those meditative stabilizations and formless realms that are afflicted are the single-pointedness of mind that is associated with the afflictions of their own realm. These are of four types: those dominated by desire are associated with the desire to taste the pleasure of meditative stabilization. Those dominated by views generate views such as speculation about the beginning. Those dominated by pride are meditative stabilizations in which the mind is conceited without having attained special qualities. Those dominated by doubt are those who doubt whether their own state is the path to liberation. These are like rotten seeds, and because they do not produce fruition, they are not meditative stabilizations of causal equipoise, but are merely approximated as meditative stabilizations because they resemble meditative stabilization. The pure ones are the virtuous single-pointedness of mind together with its concomitants, which are not defiled by the afflictions of their own realm. These are of four types: the declining aspect, the abiding aspect, the excelling aspect, and the definitive aspect. The first is: the pure meditative stabilization that is immediately followed by the arising of afflictions of its own or a lower realm, and is in accordance with that. The second is: that which immediately leads to another pure meditative stabilization that is the same as its own realm. The third is: that which immediately leads to the attainment of other pure meditative stabilizations of a higher realm. The fourth is: that which immediately leads to the path that transcends the world. The peak of existence does not have the excelling aspect, because

Because there is no other land before it. Others should also know that there are four each. Samadhi that directly realizes the truth and the formless are said to be without outflows. Fourth, with three aspects: divisions of limbs, number, and definite order. In the first, there are divisions of limbs, the meaning of each division, and three aspects of definite number. The first is: the first dhyana has five limbs: vitarka (conceptualization), vicara (analysis), joy born of seclusion, bliss, and one-pointedness of mind. The second has four limbs: inner clarity, joy and bliss born of samadhi, and one-pointedness of mind. The third has five limbs: mindfulness, awareness, equanimity, bliss, and one-pointedness of mind. The fourth has: mindfulness and complete purity of equanimity, a feeling that is neither pleasure nor pain, and one-pointedness of mind, etc. The second is: the vitarka of the first dhyana is coarse desire. The first dhyana is peaceful, and is of the nature of universally seeking. Vicara is: under it, it is of the nature of carefully examining the differences through the gates of more or less afflictions, long or short life, etc. These two are limbs of antidotes, because they eliminate the unfavorable aspects of the first dhyana such as desire's attachment, hatred, and displeasure. The joy and bliss born of the seclusion of sinful and unwholesome dharmas are limbs of benefit, because they benefit the body and mind of those in dhyana. One-pointedness of mind is a limb of location, because relying on it, the limbs of antidotes and benefits such as vitarka and vicara can enter. Similarly, the second dhyana has: inner clarity, which is the nature of mindfulness, awareness, and equanimity, is a limb of antidote. In order to eliminate the unfavorable aspects of the second dhyana such as vitarka and vicara. The joy and bliss born of samadhi are limbs of benefit. The third dhyana is: mindfulness that does not forget the object of samadhi, awareness that observes sinking and excitement, and equanimity that keeps the mind in a state of equality are
