Just as containers filled with essences such as honey, syrup, and oil are named differently depending on what they contain, in order to understand the dependence contained in the three vehicles, due to the different qualities that can be understood, the nature of the six sources of dependence is the three different types of vehicles. In the example, "manifested from one clay" indicates that the dependent vase is the same, so when one person gradually enters the three vehicles, it shows that the types of the three vehicles are attributed to its nature. If someone thinks like that, it is not correct, because this is not arguing that if one person gradually enters the vehicle, the types cannot be different. Therefore, in terms of meaning, there is no difference in the dharmadhatu of different people, which is even admitted by the opponent himself. In the example, if three similar types of pottery jars are taken as examples, since the type is the same but the substance is different, it cannot prove that the dependence is the same. Therefore, in order to prove that the substance of dependence is the same, it is said that "manifested from one clay" and so on. Explanation of the object of focus. Second, there are three types of objects of focus. The first is, as mentioned above. The root is divided into two types: the real and the incidental refutation of others' objects of focus. The first is divided into three types: brief explanation, detailed explanation, and classification. The first is: "There is nothing that the princes do not learn, the real thing." In this way, the object of focus is all dharmas. The second is, that is good, etc., because it should be abandoned, accepted, or kept neutral according to the situation. The third has four classification methods: inconsistent with the path, antidote, truth, and result. They are two verses, one verse, one verse, and two verses respectively, arranged in order. These are also said in the sutras: "Good men, all dharmas are good, non-good, worldly, transcendental, contaminated, conditioned, unconditioned, blameless, common, and uncommon. Good men, these are all dharmas." The second has four types: real refutation, incidental object of focus.

This is an explanation of the differences between tenets. The first point is taken from the commentary on the "Sunlight Treatise": If someone thinks that the wisdom of the Dharmadhatu, which is always pure and non-dual, is the object of focus, then how can they describe the state of purity becoming more and more excellent? Because the Dharmadhatu itself is always pure. The meaning is this: The Mind-Only school believes that the subsequent attainment of pure worldly wisdom takes dependent phenomena, such as illusions, as its object of focus. However, the wisdom of non-conceptual meditative equipoise only takes the wisdom of the nature of reality, the consummated reality, which is non-dual, as its object of focus. In that case, the practice on the ten Bodhisattva grounds, since it purifies the object of focus by abandoning the opposing factors, should not have the characteristic of becoming more and more excellent. Because everything focuses solely on the extremely pure Dharmadhatu. If you accept this, then the practice of meditation becomes meaningless, because the yogi's practice of meditation is solely for the purpose of purifying the object of focus. For example, as long as the yogi's mindstream generates the conceptual thoughts of the two obscurations due to relying on the object of focus, both the external object of focus and one's own cause are impure. When the yogi's mindstream does not generate even a slight conceptual thought of the obscurations of afflictions and knowledge due to relying on the object of focus, then the two obscurations have been abandoned, and the object of focus has reached ultimate purity. This is because the practice of meditation on the ten grounds gradually abandons the defilements of opposing factors, thereby making the purity of the object of focus more and more excellent. To avoid this fault, the opponent argues: 'Like water, gold, and space, one desires purity as purity.' If you say that, then clinging to purity as the wisdom of Suchness is actually abandoning the clinging to opposing factors. Therefore, since the conceptual thoughts of opposing and favorable factors have not been abandoned, it will lead to a one-sided purity. The meaning is: For example, although water and space are naturally clear and free from impurities, they only receive the name of purity when they are free from dust and dirt.
