Those do not actually abide in impermanence and suffering, etc., because the impermanence of form, etc., is actually empty of its own nature. World-Honored One, moreover, when a Bodhisattva practices the Great Perfection of Wisdom, he should not abide in "form is impermanent," etc., up to "form is peaceful." Thus it is said. The aspect is impermanence, etc., and those emptinesses, etc., are actually the wisdom difference of knowing each other's nature as one. World-Honored One, the emptiness of impermanence itself is not impermanence. Emptiness is also not different from impermanence. Thus it is said. The object of the middle peak is not to grasp the dharmas from form to omniscience as characteristics, that is, there is nothing to be grasped. World-Honored One, omniscience itself should not be grasped as a characteristic. Thus it is said. The aspect is the wisdom difference of not seeing those dharmas as characteristics of what should be obtained and what should be realized. Therefore, for dharmas that are empty of their own nature, no dharma is completely grasped. Thus, the knower does not see the obtainable and realizable within. Thus it is said. The object of the great peak is to fully understand with true wisdom what the nature of dharmas is, what they are related to, and what kind of characteristics they have, that is, the difference of observing form, etc. When a Bodhisattva practices the Great Perfection of Wisdom, he should fully observe in this way: What is Prajna? What is it related to? What is it? Why is it called Prajna? Thus it is said. The aspect is, thus, the establishment is the wisdom difference of knowing that all dharmas have no object in reality. Venerable Shariputra, because of inner emptiness, etc., there is no form and it is unattainable, and so on. Second, the explanation is divided into two, the first is, extensive explanation: The object of the small peak is that form, etc., do not actually abide, that is, actually because of the emptiness of their own nature, there is nothing to abide in. The reason for this is that form, etc., are. Thus it is said. The first two sentences have been spoken. Aspect

That is to say, for those such as form, ultimately, permanence and impermanence, etc., do not exist; realizing that there is no place where they exist, that itself is (conviction). The reason is: ultimately, all phenomena such as form and emptiness have the same reason. Because it pervades, there are no characteristics such as impermanence, etc., and permanence, etc., on emptiness. The third and fourth (lines) have been explained. The object of the middle peak is: the emptiness of the object of impermanence, etc., is ultimately the nature of the Dharmadhatu, and ultimately it has no self-nature. (Please examine with the thought of annihilation.) The reason for that is also the nature of the Dharmadhatu, which is free from elaboration. This explains the fifth and sixth (lines). The aspect is: ultimately, because the nature of truth is negated, therefore form, etc., should not be regarded as one's own; realizing that it is not what I hold, this is called (conviction). This explains "Whatever does not grasp phenomena." The object of the great peak is: for those such as form, ultimately, not seeing the characteristics of the reasons for the terms of phenomena such as blue and yellow, etc., is called (conviction). Ultimately, because there is no emptiness. This explains "Therefore, not seeing those characteristics." The aspect is: with the wisdom that follows reason, truly, for phenomena, what is the essence? What are the related ones? What are the characteristics? Thoroughly distinguishing, therefore, definitely realizing that all internal and external things are not truly existent, this is called (conviction). This explains the last two lines. In this way, the teacher's treatise mainly focuses on grasping the words, while the noble one mainly combines it with the sutras, so both methods can be explained from their respective aspects, and should not be considered a defect. The second is: as mentioned before, there are three types, small, medium, and large, so they are called three peaks. Why are they called peaks? Because below the heat stage, wrong views may cut off the roots of virtue, so it is called shaking the roots of virtue, but after obtaining this, the roots of virtue cannot be cut off, so it is more excellent than that, so it is a peak. Third, the object and aspect of forbearance, the first of the root and commentary is: the object of small forbearance is: form, etc.
