From the sixteenth moment of entering the path, until the sixth affliction of the desire realm is abandoned, one abides in the uninterrupted path. Secondly, the one who cuts off all at once has four aspects: nature, classification, distinction, and boundary. The first is: What is a Stream-enterer? It is one who cuts off afflictions to be abandoned through cultivation in the three realms in one manner. Secondly, regarding (cutting off all at once), there are three aspects: the manner of abandoning afflictions, the manner of attaining the result, and the basis of quoting scriptures. The first aspect is: In the Compendium of Abhidharma, it is definitely pointed out that cutting off all at once: After realizing the truths, relying on non-regression, the afflictions of the three realms are abandoned in one manner by the supramundane path. This is established as the two fruits of Stream-enterer and Arhat. It should be understood as it is said. This should also be known by what time, relying on what ground, by what path, in what manner, the reason for being able to abandon in this way, and what fruit is established. First, because it says "after realizing the truths," that is, after obtaining the path of seeing, because ordinary people cannot abandon all the afflictions of the three realms. Second, relying on the non-regression of the preliminary concentration of the first dhyana, because this can abandon all the afflictions of the three realms, and other grounds cannot be the antidote to the afflictions to be abandoned through cultivation in the desire realm. Third, with the path that transcends the world, focusing on the characteristics of the truth, because the worldly path has the aspect of tranquility and roughness, it cannot be the antidote to its own ground and the ground above. Fourth, the afflictions to be abandoned through cultivation in the three realms are not divided by the differences of the nine grounds, but are divided into nine categories of large and small to be abandoned. That is, when the largest of the large afflictions is abandoned, then all the largest of the large from the desire realm to the peak of existence are abandoned. When the smallest of the small is abandoned, it is also in the manner of abandoning the smallest of the small from the desire realm to the peak of existence. Fifth, the reason for being able to abandon in this way is: Here, the aggregates such as form in the three realms are not divided into realms and grounds, but are summarized as "all of this is impermanent, suffering, and without self," and are meditated upon in sequence, or with the aspect of tranquility and roughness above and below, or the three realms.

Because they do not meditate by separating sufferings and so on. As it is said, in the Sutra of the Fingertip: Whatever form it may be, from "form" to "consciousness," past, future, and present, etc., are extensively discussed, from far to near, etc., all of which are gathered together as one. Gathered as one, combined as one, becoming one aggregate. Having gathered as one, and having become one aggregate, thus, it is taught as it is: All of this is impermanent, all of this is suffering, extensively as it is said. Sixth, the way to abandon what should be abandoned as mentioned before is established on the two fruits of Stream-enterer and Arhat. After realizing the truth, as long as the abandonment of cultivation is not completely abandoned, it is always the Stream-enterer. When the abandonment of cultivation is completely abandoned, then it is the Arhat. For the two in between, this is not reasonable, because after realizing the truth, they are distinguished by abandoning most of the afflictions to be abandoned in the desire realm and abandoning them completely. Second, the way to obtain the fruit, in the Compendium of Categories, it says: Mostly, one obtains omniscience at the time of seeing the Dharma or at the time of death. Even if one does not obtain it, because one has the power of aspiration, due to the power of aspiration, one is born in the desire realm, and when there is no Buddha appearing, one will become a Pratyekabuddha. As it is said. Third, the source of the scripture, in the Sutra of Discrimination, it says: Establishing the fruit of Arhat under the Stream-enterer is based on the premise of arising decisively at once, otherwise, it is unreasonable to establish the Arhat under the Stream-enterer. Furthermore, the Sutra of the Fingertip quoted earlier is also the source here. Third, classification: merely the state of fruit and the two with differences. The second is entering the fruit of Arhat. Fourth, the boundary: from the sixteenth moment of realizing the truth to the uninterrupted path of abandoning the smallest part of the abandonment of cultivation. Second pair, regarding the Once-returner, divided into entering and abiding, the first of the two, divided into three, the first, definition: great

There are two types of diligence on the path to attain the fruit of a renunciate who is completely separated from attachment to most things. The divisions are: the Once-Returner Stream-Enterer who is gradual and the one who is sudden. The first has two types: faith-follower and sight-attainer. The second has two types: faith-adherent and dharma-adherent. The third is the boundary: the gradual Stream-Enterer has two types, from the path of application that abandons the first of the desire realm's objects to be abandoned in meditation, up to the uninterrupted path between abandoning the sixth. The sudden Stream-Enterer has two types, like the Stream-Enterer, the difference being the abandonment of the sixth to the eighth of the objects to be abandoned in meditation. The second, the fruit-stayer, has three; the first is the characteristic: abiding in the fruit of a renunciate who is completely separated from attachment to most things. Why is it called the Once-Returner? Because most of the afflictions of the desire realm have been abandoned, only one remainder of the same type of birth as gods and humans remains in the desire realm. Once in the desire realm's god realm, once in the human realm, although it is possible to take two births, it is not possible to take two births of the same type, therefore it is called the Once-Returner. The second is the division, divided by the way of obtaining the fruit, there are two types: gradual and sudden. These are abiding in the fruit of the Once-Returner obtained in sequence through the path of meditation and obtained through the path of seeing. The first is called gradual because it does not exceed the order of the way of manifesting the fruit, and the latter is called sudden because it exceeds that order. Others say that the latter is the previous dispassionate Once-Returner, which is not skilled in the terminology of dispassion. Like this, abandoning one or two afflictions of the desire realm is called being partially separated from desire, abandoning three is called a part, abandoning six is called most, and abandoning the ninth obtains the name of being separated from desire in the desire realm. As long as the ninth affliction of the desire realm has not been abandoned, the name of dispassion cannot be obtained. The special feature of the Once-Returner fruit-stayer who is separated by one interval has three special features: the special feature of abandonment is that seven or eight afflictions of the desire realm have been abandoned, and the ninth has not been abandoned. The special feature of birth is that after taking one birth in the desire realm, one attains nirvana.
