Although different, it is to show that the types of realization such as reliance and warmth are not different. The former "paths" are to draw out the later examples, while the latter are to draw out other examples that make known the realization of blissful abiding in the direct perception of the noble ones. Mentioning Shariputra and Maudgalyayana's son is to grasp the meaning of similar realization. Like "the rain in China," it shows the number, power, lineage, cause, and unsurpassed distinction of a Bodhisattva's wisdom cultivated in a single day. Who is the Bodhisattva here? Is it the one who generates the first thought, or the one who dwells in conduct, or the non-returner, or the one who is bound by one lifetime? For the time being, it is not the fourth, because the tenth ground is said to be the Tathagata. It is also not the third, because the Nirvana with that intention is blocked on the eighth ground, because wisdom is particularly superior to all Shravakas. Moreover, that Nirvana is not that of the Shravakas, because it is abandoned for a long time after generating the first thought. Because the object of cultivation is not abandoned. If it is said that it is not that of the Buddha either, then there are many Nirvanas in this teaching, such as the one who has attained the peak and cut off the root of virtue, the one who has attained forbearance and is free from the lower realms, the one who has attained concentration and is free from its limbs, the stream-enterer is free from the eighth existence, the once-returner is free from being born here once, the non-returner is free from the desire realm, and the Arhat is the Nirvana without remainder of aggregates. Here, it is the Nirvana of intention, because at that time, the activity of benefiting beings is cut off until that time. It is also not the second, because that is also particularly superior to the realization of Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, if it is said so, according to the manner described above, those three are not reasonable, and it appears to be the Bodhisattva who generates the first thought arising from convention, possessing the Dharma of non-regression. If that is the case, then all sentient beings entering Nirvana and the accomplishment of the Dharmakaya, etc., contradict the result of a Bodhisattva's wisdom cultivated in a single day, because those are the results of wisdom of countless eons. If it is said so, there is no fault, because the first generation of thought and the later ones generate those in dependence on each other by the example of the lamp, this also.

Indeed, it is so. As stated in the "Sunlight Sutra." Secondly, regarding the instruction on the four noble truths as the object, there are two aspects: the general meaning and the specific meaning. The first aspect has four points: the individual nature of the four noble truths, their meaning, number, and the certainty of their order. The first of these four points is: first, explaining the definition of the truth of suffering, and second, identifying the basis of the definition. The first of these two is: actions that have become the result of karma and afflictions should be fully understood through the characteristics of impermanence, etc. In this regard, children cling to the aggregates of suffering as permanent, etc., with four inversions. As an antidote to these, the four characteristics of impermanence, etc., are taught as the definition of suffering. The antidote to permanence is impermanence, and the antidote to purity and happiness is one aspect of suffering, because purity and happiness both enter into a pleasant aspect, while suffering is the opposite, entering into an unpleasant aspect. The antidotes to grasping at a self are emptiness and selflessness, because some imagine that there is another entity of a self that controls the aggregates, while most impute the aggregates themselves as a self. Therefore, the antidotes to these are in order. As it is also stated in the Compendium: 'Why should the truth of suffering be viewed in four ways?' It is said, 'As an antidote to the four inversions. One aspect is the antidote to one inversion, one aspect is the antidote to two inversions, and the last two aspects are the antidote to one inversion.' It is said. If all four truths are to be fully understood, then why is only suffering taught as something to be understood? Because the truth of suffering is the place of the four inversions, in order to eliminate them, it is to be understood through the definitions of its own and general characteristics, therefore it is taught as something to be fully understood. Furthermore, it says in that same text: 'The truth of suffering is the place of the four inversions, therefore, in order to eliminate the four inversions, it is established that it should be fully understood.' So it says. The second is: the five aggregates, which are the result of the maturation of karma and afflictions, held by the continuum of sentient beings, are the result of ownership, and all the outer world. As it is said: 'What is the truth of suffering? It can also be understood through the birth of sentient beings and the place of birth.' So it is said.
