With regard to the object, it possesses the support of impermanence, etc., and the absence of a self of a person. The fruit of separation is the abandonment of the root of afflictive obscurations, the ignorance of clinging to the aggregates as self. Knowledge of the path itself is also twofold: those with the aspect of realizing the unborn nature of the three paths, and those who are the agents of emergence from the three vehicles, but do not manifest the ultimate reality. The first is that which abides as one entity with all-knowingness. With regard to the second, the object is the emergence from the objects to be abandoned of all the paths of the three vehicles, and the aspect is that of not manifesting suchness without having cultivated perfection and maturity. The fruit of the action of a person is gathering disciples who have not been gathered, and, included by "etc.," having the function of maturing and liberating. Omniscience itself is also twofold: concordant and characteristic. The first is those who have obtained the concordant qualities of the Buddha, such as powers, from the eighth ground onwards, which abides as one entity with knowledge of the path. With regard to the second, the object is all phenomena of cause, effect, essence, and nature, and the aspect is that of having the support of being unborn from the beginning. The fruit is the benefit of others and the benefit of oneself. The former is the continuous, uninterrupted benefit of sentient beings until the end of samsara, reaching the limits of space. The latter has two aspects: realization and abandonment. The former is realization in the manner of abiding constantly and equally in the ultimate reality, the stainless nature of phenomena. The latter is the abandonment of the connection of taking the mind-made body with the ground of ignorance and habitual tendencies, and with uncontaminated actions. Fourthly, because the Ornament of Clear Realization encompasses all the clear realizations of the noble ones through the three wisdoms, it is reasonable to say that it is a complete display of the clear realizations of the four noble ones, because it encompasses all that is expressed: the basis, the antidote, and the aspects. Although it is necessary to explain the translation in this way, it does not seem very appropriate. Therefore, this translation seems incorrect, and it would be reasonable to translate it as "encompassing all the basis, antidote, and aspects, it is a complete display of clear realization."

It seems appropriate to say so. Explanation of "Need". Secondly, the limb of entry, "Need-Relationship," has three parts, the first of which is the connection: it is said, "has spoken." Where? In the four things, such as the subject matter of Maitreya's own treatise. The relationship is: because it is understood through the force of showing the need, it is not shown directly, therefore it is said "only." Why is there a need? Because it is a limb for entering other treatises, it is for the sake of the cause. How can showing the subject matter, etc., lead to entry? Because it eliminates the obstacle to entry, the unnecessary need, and because it generates the favorable condition for entry, the doubt about the meaning transformation of the four dharmas, such as the meaning of the need-relationship statement, need, etc. If one wonders how the need arises, then, for the Blessed Noble One who has conquered the four maras that others have not conquered, what is the meaning of showing the sequence of the eight realizations again? Who would think that? Those of inferior intelligence who do not know the difference between the needs of sutras and treatises. Why? Because the Blessed One has extensively explained, etc. The meaning is: No matter which of the beings to be tamed, whether of superior, middling, or inferior faculties, is the object of Matrpada (無熱惱海), it is meaningless to compose a treatise, because the Blessed One himself has clearly explained the sequence of realizations through the three ways of extensive, intermediate, and concise. Why is it certain that there are four needs, etc.? Because they are the antidotes to the obstacles to entry, the four wrong conceptions. If this has no subject matter and relationship, no one will enter it like the words of a madman, therefore the subject matter and relationship of this are shown. Even if there is a subject matter and relationship, if there is no difference in the uncommon need, one will not enter this, therefore the difference in the need that only the treatise has must be shown. Even if there is a need, if it is not the ultimate need, it is not what one wants, and one will not enter, because seeking needs, etc., is because of pursuing the ultimate need that one wants to attain. Therefore, the ultimate need of this must be shown. For the ultimate need, there is no need to show other needs, because when the main need is established, the wish is completely fulfilled, therefore one will not seek a higher need.
