Second, the number of qualities is: First, in a single instant, one sees a hundred emanation Buddhas, knows their blessings, enters a hundred samadhis, a hundred worlds shake, goes to a hundred worlds, illuminates a hundred worlds, ripens a hundred sentient beings, abides for a hundred kalpas, enters their prior and posterior limits, opens a hundred Dharma gates, manifests a hundred bodies, and each body manifests a hundred thousand bodhisattva retinues, obtaining one hundred and twelve qualities. Similarly, on the second bhumi, one obtains a thousandfold increase, on the third bhumi, a hundred thousandfold increase, on the fourth bhumi, a trillionfold increase, on the fifth bhumi, a trillion thousandfold increase, on the sixth bhumi, a trillion hundred thousandfold increase, on the seventh bhumi, a koti trillion hundred thousandfold increase, on the eighth bhumi, one obtains the dust particles of ten hundred thousand kotis of three thousand great thousand worlds, on the ninth bhumi, one obtains the dust particles of ten hundred thousand kotis of countless Buddha fields, and on the tenth bhumi, one obtains the dust particles of Buddha fields that are inexpressible and again inexpressible. Third, the distinctions of the paramitas are: On those ten bhumis, one obtains the complete purification of the qualities of the ten paramitas, such as generosity, in sequence. Furthermore, the signs of dreams, dharanis, and the distinctions of abandonment, etc., those mentioned in the Sutra of Golden Light, if one wishes to know, one should look there. Fourth: One should know that whatever Dharma is completely joined with any bhumi, as long as it is not complete, that time is that bhumi, and once it is complete, it is another bhumi. Fifth: The individual meanings of the words will be explained, and the general meaning of the word is that the Sanskrit word for bhumi is "bhu mi," and when a letter is added, the etymological explanation is: it makes limitless beings without fear, or, because the limitless increases from above to above. As it says in the Ornament of the Sutras: "Because beings are limitless and without fear, because the limitless are above and above, because later and later they possess increase, these are desired as the bhumi." Second, regarding the meaning of the limbs, the general connection, the individual natures, the first of the two is: with the collection of bhumis, it is connected by saying that twenty-three intermediate verses are taught. The necessity is: any bhumi is completely trained in order to exhaust faults and perfect qualities.
