The fourth is. It is for counteracting hatred and so on. It is said that the object of practice is sentient beings who desire enjoyment. For Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, all sentient beings who act in the three realms, and especially the object of compassion, are those who delight in both samsara and nirvana, and who possess all the opposing factors of the six perfections. As it is said in the Ornament of the Sutras: The Tathagata dwells there, Like the king of mountains on a high peak, He dwells and observes beings, He has compassion for those who rejoice in peace, What need to mention those who delight in existence? It is also said: Have compassion for the miserly, and for the unruly, Have compassion for the confused, and for the negligent, Have compassion for those controlled by others, and for those with wrong views. As it is said, correspond to the opposing factors of the six perfections in order. Also, in the same text, it says: Burning, overcome by enemies, Oppressed by suffering, obscured by darkness, Entering a difficult path, Truly endowed with great bondage, Attached to food mixed with poison, Having completely lost the way, Entering a wrong path, being weak, Have compassion for all sentient beings. As it is said, among them, burning refers to attachment to sensual pleasure. Overcome by enemies refers to being obstructed by demons when engaging in virtue. Oppressed by suffering refers to beings in the lower realms. Obscured by darkness refers to those who are ignorant of the dissimilarities of karma and its results. Entering a difficult path refers to those of extinct lineage. Truly endowed with great bondage refers to those whose minds are bound by eternalistic and nihilistic views. Attached to food mixed with poison refers to those who savor the bliss of meditative absorption. Having completely lost the way refers to those with pride. Entering a wrong path refers to those of uncertain lineage who have entered the Lesser Vehicle. Being weak refers to those Bodhisattvas whose accumulations are not yet complete; these are the objects of a Bodhisattva's compassion. The fourth, the method of cultivation, is that the three—loving-kindness, compassion, and joy—are first cultivated by focusing on friends, then on neutral people, and finally on enemies. Like an only child, wishing enemies to have happiness and wishing them to be free from suffering, when they become equal, one becomes skilled.

Neutrality: First, meditate based on the aspect of ordinary people, and ultimately, when one becomes equal to friends and enemies, and does not generate attachment and hatred, then it is accomplished. Fifth, the benefits of meditation are: In the Samadhiraja Sutra, it says: In the fields filled with hundreds of thousands of kotis, whatever immeasurable offerings there are, constantly offering the best of beings every day, cannot compare to the number and rain of loving-kindness. In the Udrasta Question Sutra, it says: Having equal loving-kindness for all sentient beings, constantly holding the mind of omniscience, not abandoning sentient beings with compassion, and not being weary in samsara with joy, abandoning all faults with great equanimity. As it is said, in the Ratnavali it is also said: Gods and humans become loving, and they are also protected, having mental ease and great happiness, unharmed by poison and weapons, accomplishing things without effort, and will be born in the Brahma world, even if not liberated, they will obtain eight qualities of loving-kindness. Sixth, the meaning of the words is: Because the object of focus is immeasurable sentient beings, or because it generates immeasurable merit and reward, it is immeasurable. Because practicing this will be born in the Brahma world, it is called the Brahma abode.

What is great? By how much does one rightly enter the Great Vehicle? From where does this vehicle attain enlightenment? Where will this vehicle abide? What will this vehicle produce? Thus, through the union of wisdom and compassion, and their non-difference, transcending discordant sides, the union being extremely vast, with the freedom of realization, it is taught by way of closely showing the answers to five questions. Among these, the five from skillful means to dharani are spoken as the answer to the first question, showing the nature of the Great Vehicle. The collection of grounds is spoken as the answer to the second question, showing it. The collection of antidotes is spoken as the answer to the last three questions, showing them. Among these, the answer to the third question is: Whatever Rabjor said, from where will this vehicle arise? Answer: It will arise from the three realms in a non-objective manner, and in a non-dual manner, wherever the all-knowingness is, it will abide there. Thus, the brief indication of the collection of antidotes is spoken. The answer to the fourth question is: Rabjor, what you said, where will this vehicle abide? Answer: This vehicle will not abide anywhere. Why is that? Because all phenomena are without abiding. However, this vehicle will abide in a non-abiding manner. Thus, etc., it is spoken with the freedom of the first antidote to the apprehended concept of the path of meditation. The answer to the fifth question is: Rabjor, what you said, by whom will this vehicle definitely arise? Answer: This vehicle will not arise by anyone. Thus, it is spoken with the freedom of the second antidote to the apprehended concept of the path of meditation. Third, the reason for establishing it as a collection in the commentary, the way to accomplish it, the determination of the number, showing the individual nature, and the determination of the order, the first of these four is: Great compassion, etc., are dharmas, it is the establishment of a collection, because it is a collection of causes that actually produces great enlightenment. The reason for that is: These, with the nature of true accomplishment, hold great enlightenment as the result, becoming the nature of non-conceptual wisdom.
