If it is said that other categories are included in inference, so there is no need to point them out separately, then, this subject, the treatise is also considered separate from inference, which would become meaningless, because the treatise is included in inference, because it has been pointed out before that the treatise is included in the effect-sign. If it is said that it is necessary to rely on the necessity of distinguishing and pointing out, then, in the words of the Introduction to Reasoning, what is the necessity of distinguishing the words from the treatise? The words of the Introduction to Reasoning themselves are also considered separate from the treatise, this subject, it is necessary, because merely stating self-contradictory words without reliable support is merely mutually obstructive, not harmful, this is to explain this point. If it is said that since the debater has admitted that the treatise is reliable, then, for all subjects that rely on and do not rely on the treatise, the treatise is a harmer, if it is said that when the treatise is not considered reliable, is the treatise a harmer? Or is it a harmer to the subject that does not rely on the treatise? If asked, if the treatise was admitted before, and then the contradiction with the treatise is admitted later, then the debater's own words will become self-contradictory, the treatise, this subject, you will become no different from self-speech and the way of harming, because what contradicts you is also self-speech contradicting. Furthermore, this treatise admitted by the debater, this subject, how can it be a reliable one that fully possesses the characteristics of reliability? Because it is considered reliable only because of personal intention. Therefore, for things established by reliability, language is not allowed to be a harmer, therefore, for the meaning that is widely known and established in direct perception and inference, even if the treatise as a reliable treatise is abandoned, there is no fault at all, but when studying extremely hidden things such as heaven, it is necessary to consider the treatise as reliable, if the treatise is not considered reliable, then the study of these things themselves will not be allowed. Even when using hidden things, it is not just accepting any language, but it is necessary to examine and study the language with reason, and when consolidating and studying this language with reason, most of the time it is stating contradictions between the beginning and the end, for example, first pointing out that greed and so on are not Dharma, are the root of sin, and then pointing out that bathing in the Ganges and so on is Dharma.

Because it shows that sins are purified. So, how does a realized being accept a scripture as valid? It is reasonable for a realized being to engage with scriptures after examining them with reason. Because for visible manifest and obscure things, if the scripture can be proven by the reasoning of direct perception and inference, and there is no contradiction; for invisible extremely obscure things, if the scripture has no contradiction in its own words, then such a treatise should be taken as a reliable basis. They reveal the elimination of faith through the sign of the promised result, and reveal the elimination of fame through the sign of fame among people. For example, the term 'moon' and so on can be used to refer to anything, but it will be harmful to the contradictory commitment. Because you have not prevented the establishment of all things, and such establishment is only related to the wishes of the person. Therefore, the word 'moon' and so on, which can refer to all things without harm, is harmful to your commitment that you cannot refer to things like rabbits, because it is established that worldly people believe and deeply understand that you can refer to them. If the term can be used to refer to something, why is it called 'fame'? The reason why the term that can be used to refer to something is named and expressed by the word 'fame' is that the term arises in the object of cognition with the nature of fame, that is, it is established by this term, so it is named and expressed as 'fame'. If what can be expressed is directly contradictory to what cannot be expressed, then it should harm it, but direct perception, inference, and scriptures do not contradict what appears to be a commitment, so how do they harm it? Dignāga and Dharmakīrti, sometimes you say that direct perception, inference, etc. harm what appears to be a commitment, but this is not to say that the actual valid direct perception, inference, etc. cause harm. Because you fabricate the object to be measured, which is established by direct perception, inference, etc., with the words or names of the means of measurement, direct perception, inference, etc., and then say that direct perception, inference, etc. cause harm.
