A certain dharma of a long syllable, it follows that it will not perish later either, because there is no difference in anything that did not perish before, there is this fault. Moreover, the efforts of self-arising become more and more meaningless, because seeking once, that is, from the root of self-arising alone, all parts of itself are fully produced, this also exists. Furthermore, the debater thinks that the previous and subsequent letters, such as those related to wind, with possession and distinction, etc., all want to make what has already been established appear all at once, to this, that dharma, the efforts of self-arising become more and more meaningless for you to manifest, because the first effort of self-manifestation has already fully manifested all your parts all at once, this fault remains. If it is said that the moments of hearing consciousness arise continuously, therefore it can hold that long syllable, and it is also experienced by the consciousness of other entities that arise after itself, so there is no fault. Then, the mind that arises as hearing consciousness holding a long syllable, is the dharma, it should experience the consciousness holding the long syllable, because whichever is the last moment of consciousness holding it, only that is experienced. It is pervasive, because the last moment of consciousness holding a long syllable is not the consciousness holding a long syllable. If you admit, the consciousness holding a long syllable, is the dharma, it will not be remembered later, because it is a consciousness without an experiencer. If it is said that the previous and subsequent consciousnesses holding a long syllable are each experienced by different experiencer entities alternately, so there is no fault of not having an experiencer. Then, the hearing consciousness that hears the sound part of that long syllable, is the dharma, it will not appear that the part is without interruption, because between its previous and subsequent moments, it is interrupted by other entities of the experiencer. If it is said that even if that appears interrupted, it is connected and augmented because of the rapid entry, so there is no fault. That is also unreasonable, because it has already been refuted by correct reasoning that the previous letters will also be heard all at once, etc. Furthermore, if it is said that even if consciousness sees the object with interruption, it will be mistaken as without interruption because of the rapid entry. Then, when reciting the short syllables A and I,

Moreover, the auditory sense consciousness is the subject. It is asserted that it becomes confused without interruption between A and I. Because that is why hearing enters quickly. Furthermore, is the mind that imputes without interruption due to rapid entry a sense consciousness or a conceptual consciousness? If it is the former, then the sense consciousnesses are the subject. Even if the senses, that is, you, see the object as having intervals, it is not permissible to impute without interruption. If that is the case, then the sense consciousnesses, that is, all of you, would have the fault of becoming objects of perversion. That is to say, the nature of letters, the shortest limit of all, like a short A, even one, exists only for the duration of a blink of an eye, and that duration must be completed by the duration associated with many parts of a single atom passing in chronological order. The time for one atom to pass once is also the subject. It is considered to be the ultimate moment of time. Because it is the ultimate limit of small or short time. Thus, the mind's auditory consciousness is also the subject. The parts of letters, such as length, are understood in sequence, not simultaneously. Because you are not the ultimate moment of time, any extremely short letter must be completed by a duration associated with many moments. Therefore, the knowable is the subject. The consciousnesses that enter objects such as the length of letters and forms, even if the experiencer, another substance, is interrupted by moments before and after, all minds that appear to be uninterrupted become false in meaning. Because the objects such as the length of letters are grasped by consciousness in sequence of moments, not simultaneously. Furthermore, apart from the way the sense consciousness is confused, the mind that combines and imputes things in moments before and after, saying, "That is this," is the subject. It is conceptual, because it is a memory that does not represent things in moments before and after as different, does not understand them, and confuses the previous "that" with "this" as one. Therefore, how can there be clarity in the letters that have become the objects of the sense consciousness for you? It is impossible. Speech is connected with sound and meaning.
