You (proponent), you, possessing ordinary consciousness, necessarily appear as appearing twice. Because the consciousness grasping at self is truly apparent compared to the consciousness that knows and experiences it. If the later mind moves to other external objects, then the final mind that moves is not experienced by the later mind, so there is no fault, is it? Bestower of Gods (proponent), because others experience offerings, you will necessarily cause all previous consciousnesses in your own continuum to become without experience. Because the later mind in one's own continuum does not experience the previous one, because there is no experiencer of the previous one other than the later mind. If the Bestower of Gods says that one's own experience is direct perception, but the experience of others becoming direct perception is not, so they are not the same. Bestower of Gods (proponent), the distinction that one's own experience is direct perception, while the experience of others is not direct perception, is unreasonable. Because for what reason is the distinction made, that which is said to be one's own experience, is it established by valid cognition or not? If the term "clear" is not permissible for things that are not clear to oneself, then how is the term "clear" applied to the senses such as the eyes? The senses that are the cause of sense consciousness, (proponent), even if they themselves are not established as clear, it is permissible to apply the term "clear", because the term "clear" is applied by way of being the cause of sense consciousness, which is the self-result of clear forms and so on. Therefore, knowable things (proponent), the consciousness that wants to be clear, is not clear about external forms and so on when it is not clear itself, if consciousness itself is not established as clear, and external forms and so on are clear, then all external forms and so on of the objects of experience will become clear. In the verses of the "Commentary on Valid Cognition," the actual meaning of the chapter on direct perception is briefly explained, which is the third chapter. Explanation of the third chapter from the "Intellectual Satisfaction."
