In order not to tend towards (others), the consciousness that grasps form, etc., does not arise, but rather the arising of later consciousness depends on the former consciousness. If it is not like this, then, knowable phenomena, because the cause of consciousness is the single mind, therefore consciousness must only arise one at a time, which is unreasonable. Because when the three conditions of the six sense consciousnesses are capable, sometimes multiple consciousnesses arise simultaneously. Furthermore, the mind tending towards the six objects is the same, and in all equal states, phenomena, except for smell, the consciousness that knows form, etc., will not arise, which is unreasonable. Because the mind entering the door of the nose sense is the same. Furthermore, multiple former and later consciousnesses, phenomena, will arise simultaneously, which is unreasonable. Because the self and the mind are permanent, and they arise merely from meeting. If it is said that because the causal mind is permanent, multiple consciousnesses will not arise from it simultaneously, because one action has only one result. Then, the light of a single lamp, phenomena, how can it be seen or not seen by multiple sense consciousnesses, which is unreasonable. Because the action is unique. Furthermore, the mind, phenomena, will also gradually lose the ability to generate multiple consciousnesses, which is unreasonable. Because it cannot generate multiple consciousnesses simultaneously, and afterwards there is no difference from the previous situation. If the permanent mind is the cause of consciousness, then it must generate multiple consciousnesses simultaneously, and if it is not like this, then it will not generate them gradually either. This statement also harms the view that the body of earth is permanent, and that the person, that is, the permanent self, is the cause of consciousness. If the Vaisheshika school believes that from the merit of the self, that is, from creation, only one intellect will necessarily arise, then, is it permanent or impermanent? If it is permanent, then the fault of multiple intellects arising simultaneously remains. If it is impermanent, then from what cause does it arise afterwards? If it is said that it arises from the previous intellect itself, then, even so, the later intellect arising from the former capable intellect has already established our view. If the former intellect is the cause of the later intellect, but not the object of apprehension, so the later intellect will tend towards external objects, then, that former intellect that has become the object of apprehension of the later intellect, phenomena, should not be another cause of generation other than being the object of apprehension of its own later intellect, which is unreasonable. Because one's own later intellect is the cause of generation that one's self holds.

Therefore. Because it is pervasive, because that is its nature. If it is said that it is not determined by the appearance of external objects, then, the appearance of external objects, is the subject to be proven, although it is not the object of apprehension of self-grasping power consciousness, it should not become its cause of production, because it becomes its cause of production in the way that it is its object of apprehension. Furthermore, that appearance, previously coarse becoming subtle, near becoming far, interrupted by obscurations, etc., even if it can become a non-object of apprehension, but the previous mind without parts of direction and time, is the subject to be proven, in ways such as being subtle, distant, interrupted by obscurations, etc., it should not not become the object of apprehension of its own later mind, because you do not have coarse becoming subtle, etc. If it is said that the previous mind has both the ability to be apprehended by the later mind and the ability to be the proximate cause, and when the later mind shifts to external objects, its ability to be apprehended will weaken, but the ability of the cause of production, the nature of the proximate cause, will not weaken, so the later mind will shift to external objects, then, the previous mind, is the subject to be proven, other than being the object of apprehension of its own later mind, it does not have the ability to be the cause of production of self-grasping there, because it is the nature of its object of apprehension, this is pervasive. For example, just as external phenomena such as form are not the objects of apprehension of self-grasping mind, they do not have the ability to directly benefit self-grasping mind. The reason is also established, because the previous mind, is also the subject to be proven, it should abide in the very object of apprehension of its own later mind, because it is there as the cause of production of self-grasping, this is pervasive. Because the nature of the object of apprehension is that self-grasping consciousness arises as self-grasping, other than that, what is the determiner, that is, the establisher, of the object of apprehension? Because there is none. If it is said that the nature described above is the nature of the object of apprehension of external objects, not the nature of the object of apprehension of inner consciousness, so the previous mind is not the object of apprehension of the later mind, then, the previous mind, is the subject to be proven, relative to its own later mind, it should become the object of apprehension of inner consciousness, because it becomes its proximate cause in the way that it is its object, and abides in the nature of experience, this is pervasive. Because abiding in the proximate cause of self-grasping consciousness and the nature of one's own experience is the nature of the object of apprehension of the inner mind. If
