That is what is said. If there is no ignorance, then subsequent inference is meaningless. Because those great wisdom holders who do not arise from the causes of internal and external errors, but only by seeing the seed itself, can ascertain all aspects such as abilities. Therefore, for the meaning of non-difference, the self-character of sound, is the subject, the continuous liberation from the unmade, the permanent, etc., in order to have such certain wisdom and to know in this way, just as how the many different sounds of the made, impermanent, etc., are applied, like having a basis, it becomes an object. Because it is liberated from all things of different kinds such as the unmade, the permanent, etc., and of the same kind such as pots, etc. Thus, the color of the continuous cessation of foam, is the subject, without relying on signs, by its own nature it abides in its own impermanence, and it generates conforming wisdom. Because there is no connection with other similar kinds that are the cause of error as signs, etc., and it has favorable conditions such as habit, etc., that are certain to be impermanent, etc. Thus, in one's own system, impermanence is the nature of things, and after the impermanence of the continuous cessation of foam is established by direct perception, or, some people in one's own school think that disappearing from something is impermanence, here, the wisdom that determines color as impermanent, is the subject, it is not the third measure of mixed realization, because the destruction of color is established and realized from the sign of the non-appearance of color, because the object of color that previously arose later becomes non-existent, this is called impermanence. Now, incidentally, refuting the impermanence that others have superimposed, whichever logician, considers that the existence itself that is determined by the two extremes of non-existence before and non-existence after destruction, and that abides in the middle of the two, or the state of being connected to it, is the meaning of the word impermanence. Merely the non-existence of things is not impermanence, because it is not permissible to combine the six cases of the impermanence of the non-existence of things, and merely things are not impermanent either, because it would be a fault that the sky, etc., would also be impermanent. Having said that, if the opponent is asked what those extremes of his school refer to? If he says that it is the non-existence before and the non-existence after destruction itself, then the two themselves are the name of the thing.

Why isn't it permanent? If someone asks, because you want impermanence that is different from permanence. If it is said that these two, as subjects, are not the impermanence of objects, because it is not possible to combine the sixth case of "the impermanence of objects," and the seventh case of "impermanence residing in objects," and "the characteristic of objects" and "the basis of characteristics," etc., because there is no object. If you say so, then for those two extremes as subjects, how can the sixth case of "the non-existence of objects before" and "the non-existence of objects after destruction" be combined? It cannot be combined, because the object you are related to has no self-nature. Furthermore, existence itself, which is related to this, as a subject, will not be distinguished by the extremes of non-existence before and non-existence after, because it is permanent. If you say that those two are not extremes, but the cause and effect of objects are each an extreme, and the existence itself distinguished by those two is impermanent. Then, for the rationalist, it will become that the object itself distinguished by cause and effect does not exist, because cause and effect are also not established. Because the rationalist does not admit that objects did not exist before, he does not admit the connection between non-existence before and objects. This is pervasive, because cause and effect are said to be distinguished by non-existence before. If you say that you do not admit cause and effect as you think, but that the results are combined with existence itself, or combined with their own cause, so they are called causes. Then, this cause that you admit, as a subject, the result that it produces does not exist, because existence itself and the connection that is combined with it are also permanent, so it is not the result that it produces, and furthermore, it is not the result that it produces. Therefore, the rationalist, as a subject, has no result produced by the cause, because the object does not possess non-existence before, or is not existence, because he does not admit the connection between the object and non-existence before. The former is not pervasive, because any result that did not exist before must later be produced by the cause. If you admit it, then therefore the entire object will become permanent. He does not admit the connection between non-existence before and objects.
