It is not so, because it arises suddenly in the mind stream due to causes of confusion. Therefore, these phenomena, even when analyzing selflessness etc. with the wisdom of hearing and thinking about the aggregates, do not have the power to abide in the wisdom that realizes selflessness, because you are sudden and are the nature of the wisdom that realizes selflessness. Moreover, these phenomena, even when the transformation of the basis has reached its ultimate point, do not have the power to harm it, because at that time the mind stream has become the essence or state of the wisdom that realizes selflessness. If you say, "Don't some noble ones still generate attachment etc. in their mind streams?" then, stream-enterers etc., although they have the power to generate a little attachment etc. in the substance of the mind stream, they do not have the power to remain for a long time, because for them, the power to generate the wisdom that directly realizes selflessness, which is harmful to it, is the essence, that is, the most excellent. For example, like a great fire blazing on damp ground. Furthermore, this reasoning also shows that the abandonment of the noble ones is irreversible, that is, "harmless" etc., the explanation is as before. If you say that the wisdom that realizes selflessness and the way of holding onto self are merely contradictory, it cannot eradicate it, just like attachment and anger, then this comparison is not appropriate. Attachment and anger, although the ways of holding are different, that is, contradictory, one cannot eradicate the other, they are not harmful, because they both arise from the same cause of holding onto self, and they can become the nature of cause and effect, that is, if the object of attachment is harmed, anger may arise. If you say, "Haven't the meditations on ugliness, love, and dependent origination, etc., been taught as antidotes to attachment, hatred, and ignorance, respectively? Why is it only said that seeing selflessness is the antidote to faults?" Because those are only antidotes that suppress the manifest occurrence of afflictions, they cannot eradicate the root. Like this, love and ugliness, etc., focused on sentient beings,
