It is unreasonable to establish it with a different plural word, because you have the reason for applying the plural word "consorts," that is, you have multiple, which does not exist. These six cities are the subject. It is unreasonable to establish you with a non-distinct singular word such as "a string of houses," because you have the reason for establishing it, that is, you have one, which does not exist. A single grain of sand scattered by the wind is the subject. It is unreasonable to call you a plural word such as "sands," because you have the reason for applying it to you, that is, you do not have multiple. Or, this sky is the subject. It is unreasonable to add a sixth case to you, such as "the nature of the sky," because you and the nature of the sky have not been established as distinct substances of dharma and dharmī. It is unreasonable to add the word of things called "the sky itself," because you have the reason to become a thing, which does not exist. Now, previously, it was explained that "all things," etc., exist without being mixed with others in their own nature. Someone says, if things exist without being mixed with others in their own nature, then the nature of clarity, etc., will not follow one after another, and there is no other general meaning other than that, so how can the general name be established? The answer is that although there is no general self-character in the ultimate sense, there is no fault because the general name is made by way of general imputation on the appearance object of conceptualization. The mind that grasps the generality of trees is the subject. It is the obscurer, that is, it has a conventional object, because whatever consciousness, by grasping its own nature, that is, grasping its own appearance object outward, obscures the clear appearance of the nature of the self-character of other external trees. What is the mind that grasps the generality? It is a consciousness that arises indirectly by relying on the objects of appearance of each tree that is different from non-trees, and the objects of appearance of each tree appear as the same kind. This consciousness is the subject. The objects of appearance of each tree appear as if they are not different, but like one, with some nature that is different from non-trees, because by grasping one's own appearance object outward, although the objects of appearance of each tree are different in themselves, they obscure the very appearance of being different in oneself. Therefore, the
