Fifth, the aspiration and entering Bodhicitta also arise from the five powers: the power of associating with virtuous friends, the power of awakening the Mahayana lineage, the power of virtuous roots, the power of hearing the Mahayana Dharma, and the power of familiarizing oneself with generosity and other virtuous deeds. Among these, the Bodhicitta arising from the power of friends is unstable, while the other four are stable. These are described as the Bodhicitta of understanding that arises from being taught by others. Sixth, the twenty-two distinctions of Bodhicitta are explained in the Ornament of Mahayana Sutras through examples. Among them, first, Bodhicitta with aspiration is like the earth, because from the ground of the first practitioner to the ground of Buddhahood, it is the basis of all white virtues. Second, Bodhicitta with thought is like gold, because the Bodhicitta that accomplishes benefit and happiness does not change to other thoughts. Third, Bodhicitta with higher thought is like the waxing moon, because virtuous Dharmas will increase more and more. Fourth, Bodhicitta with application is like fire, because it burns the firewood of the two obscurations. Fifth, Bodhicitta with generosity is like a great treasure, because it satisfies disciples with enjoyment and is inexhaustible. Sixth, Bodhicitta with morality is like a source of jewels, because all jewel-like qualities arise from it. Seventh, Bodhicitta with patience is like the ocean, because it is not disturbed by the suffering of body and mind. Eighth, Bodhicitta with diligence is like a vajra, because laziness does not destroy the Bodhicitta, and it is stable. Ninth, Bodhicitta with meditation is like Mount Meru, because it is not moved by distraction from the object. Tenth, Bodhicitta with wisdom is like a great medicine, because it cures the disease of the two obscurations. Eleventh, Bodhicitta with skillful means is like a spiritual friend who guides disciples, because it does not abandon the benefit of sentient beings in all situations. Twelfth, Bodhicitta with aspiration is like a wish-fulfilling jewel, because whatever is wished for the benefit of sentient beings, the result is accomplished. Thirteenth, Bodhicitta with power is like the sun, because it fully ripens disciples.

Therefore. Fourteenth, the one endowed with wisdom is like the song of a Gandharva, because he teaches the Dharma to tame those who are to be tamed. Fifteenth, the one endowed with six superknowledges is like a great king, because he has great power to accomplish the benefit of others through the door of the six superknowledges. Sixteenth, the one endowed with the two accumulations is like a treasure house filled with wealth, because he is completely filled with the two accumulations gathered by the six perfections. Seventeenth, the one endowed with the factors of enlightenment is like a great road, because all the noble ones of the three times have gone, are going, and will go. Eighteenth, the one endowed with skillful means and wisdom is like a good vehicle, because he does not fall into the two extremes of samsara and nirvana, and easily goes to the unlocalized nirvana. Nineteenth, the one endowed with retention and eloquence is like inexhaustible water, because the Dharma that has been heard is inexhaustible and can be produced. Twentieth, the one endowed with the feast of Dharma is like the beautiful sound of the great drum of the gods, because he proclaims the good name of the four seals of the Dharma to those who desire to hear it. Twenty-first, the one endowed with the path of the single vehicle is like the flow of a river, because he naturally enters into the work of benefiting others without any other thoughts. Twenty-second, the one endowed with the Dharmakaya is like a great cloud, because he shows manifestations through the door of the twelve deeds and rains down the rain of Dharma. Seventh, there are five benefits of generating Bodhicitta: the name changes, the benefit is great, the fruit is inexhaustible, the suffering of ripening is eliminated, and the cause of sin is destroyed. The first is: those beings who are bound in the prison of samsara by the bonds of karma and afflictions, and who are tormented by suffering, if they generate the mind of enlightenment, then from that moment on, in an instant, they can be called "sons of the Sugatas", and the meaning is that they become the object of reverence for the world, including gods and humans. The second is: this mind of enlightenment is the supreme offering that pleases the Sugatas, and it is also the supreme means of maturing sentient beings, and it is also the cause of perfectly accomplishing one's own benefit. The third is: other virtues that are not grasped by the mind of enlightenment are like trees by the water,
