Then, a burning Brahma's egg appeared, and from it emerged the four-faced Brahma, wearing a crown of matted hair. He created the outer and inner vessel and essence realms. So they say. Third, explaining the tenets of the logicians: In accordance with the Vaisheshika school, the great sage Foot-Eye (Kanada) composed treatises on logic, expounding the sixteen categories, twenty-four realities, and twenty-two refutations. The twenty-four realities and twenty-two refutations are compiled in the "Treasury of Valid Cognition and Logic," so if you wish to know them, please consult that book. Here, I have not written them because of the abundance of words. I have not seen a text that clearly explains the sixteen categories of logic. A rough explanation exists in the earlier school of detailed analysis. The Lokayata (Carvaka) school asserts: The body of a living being is possessed of a self, because it possesses life and so forth. They establish this reason, and although this lacks concomitance, it is a reason possessing single exclusion because it is contrary to dissimilar things such as pots. So they say. Fourth, the tenets of the Vedas: Those followers of the Vedas consider Vishnu to be permanent, liberated from things and non-things. In the "Fifth Night Treatise" it says: He is far beyond mere humans, completely abandoning things and non-things, and is certainly liberated from arising and ceasing. He is called the son of the god of wealth. In things, there is no thingness; in non-things, there is also no thingness. Whoever knows that which is liberated from things and non-things, that is the wisdom of the Vedas. So they say. The ten incarnations of Vishnu are: the four Vedas. When falling into the great ocean, Vishnu transformed into a boar, took it out, and gave it to the gods. Transforming into a turtle, he lifted the vessel world. Transforming into a wild boar, he suppressed the vessel world. Transforming into the son of Jamadagni, he killed King Ruling and so forth. Transforming into Rama, the son of ten chariots, he killed the armies of Rakshasas. Transforming into the Black King, he did the deeds of sentient beings. Transforming into a man-lion, he killed the lord of the Asuras, Hiranyakashipu. Transforming into the form of a dwarf, from the Asura king, the powerful one.

being deceived, manifesting as the Buddha to benefit sentient beings, becoming the son of the Brahmin Grakpa named Kirti Tsi to benefit sentient beings, and then saying that the times will reverse. Their view is: "Things do not exist in themselves." This is the quoted scripture. They claim to be in accordance with the Madhyamaka school, but for those who believe that permanent things truly exist, they don't even have a trace of the Madhyamaka. From the four parts of Brahma's mouth, etc., the four castes such as Brahmins are born in order, and from the four mouths, the Veda of poetry, the Veda of governance, the Veda of certainty, and the Veda of sacrifice are produced, and the four great Vedas are explained. The Vedas are considered to be not made by humans, but naturally occurring permanent things. As for killing, etc., I don't know whether to say it or not. Fifth, explaining the tenets of the Secret School: The heretical Secret School believes that the nature of the self's mind is permanent, like the sky, pervading all container and content worlds. All external elements such as earth are also the essence of the permanent self of the mind that has been completely transformed. As it is said: "Earth, water, fire, wind, etc., that knowledge is the permanent realm of activity, that is the self of having self-nature." Therefore, since external objects are not recognized as the nature of consciousness, if earth, water, etc. are recognized separately, then everything is the nature of one consciousness, and the self transcends good and evil. Since there is no external grasping, there is also no internal grasping, so there is no single experience, and the self does not move from its permanent nature, which is liberation. They say so. Sixth, explaining the tenets of the Vaisheshika School: The Vaisheshika School believes that the nature of the person's self, like the Samkhya School, is the nature of consciousness, and since the essence does not change, it is permanent. Since the states are different, such as gods and humans, it is said that time is impermanent. In the Vaisheshika Sutra, it is said: "Others think that the self is changing, having the nature of following, and think it is the nature of mind." This is what is explained. Valid cognition is the six types of direct perception, inference, sound-born, proximity, understanding of meaning, and non-existence. Among them, sound-born is: the wisdom of understanding meaning from sound. Proximity is: grasping the hidden meaning from similarity, for example, seeing a non-cow and thinking it is a cow,
