And possessing. For example, the characteristic of possessing is that it possesses all the undefiled qualities of the ultimate transformation of abode, such as strength and fearlessness. The characteristic of separation is that it has abandoned all dual obscurations, including imprints. The characteristic of nature is that it has no birth from the beginning and is free from all characteristics of compounded phenomena. In the Uttaratantra, it is said, "For the Buddhas, the essence body has five characteristics. In short, it should be understood as possessing five qualities." These are also included here accordingly. The second is the Dharmakaya, which is encompassed by the non-dual, illusory-like wisdom, that is, the Buddhas. It has the characteristic of ability, which is the cause of the two bodies and the lord of activities; the characteristic of realization, which is knowing the suchness and the extent; and the characteristic of abandonment, which is being free from all incompatible aspects. The third is the Sambhogakaya, which appears only to the bodhisattvas who have reached the ultimate as a body adorned with marks and signs. It has five characteristics: showing the body, speaking the speech, constantly performing the deeds, not being attached to them, and although showing various forms to the beings to be tamed, it is not actually there. As it is said, in the Uttaratantra, it is said, "Speaking, showing, acting constantly, without attachment, and not showing its own nature, here it is spoken of as five diversities." The fourth is the Nirmanakaya, which appears to all beings to be tamed of the three vehicles as a body adorned with marks and signs, and accomplishes the activity of turning the wheel of Dharma. That is, first, it causes the beings to be tamed to develop aversion to samsara, thereby entering the path of nirvana; in the middle, it transforms the beings who are delighted in peace, placing them in the Mahayana, thereby maturing the continuum; and finally, it prophesies the beings who have attained the supreme enlightenment, thereby accomplishing the activity of attaining liberation. As it is said, in the Uttaratantra, it is said, "Entering the path of peace in the world, and the body that is the cause of complete maturation and prophecy, whatever it is, is always present here, like the realm of form in the realm of space." Secondly, regarding the classification of wisdom, there are two: dividing into four and summarizing into two. The first is that the non-dual, illusory-like wisdom itself transforms.

Through the means of… they are divided into four types of wisdom: mirror-like wisdom, the wisdom of equality, discriminating wisdom, and the wisdom of accomplishing activities. Firstly, the non-dual wisdom is established from the perspective of its object of focus, which is to perceive all phenomena as illusory appearances without any distinction. Secondly, regarding the illusory appearances, it does not cling to any characteristics of persons or phenomena, and therefore it is established from the perspective of not distinguishing self from others. Thirdly, it is established from the perspective of knowing the various categories within the illusory appearances, like the petals of a lotus, without mixing them together. Fourthly, it is established from the perspective of being able to freely transform the appearances of the five senses such as form, and being able to control manifestations and other things according to one's wishes. In this regard, according to the Mind-Only school, which accepts the eight consciousnesses, the alaya consciousness, afflicted mind, consciousness, and the five sense consciousnesses are transformed and sequentially established as mirror-like wisdom, and so on. Just as in the state of ordinary beings, the alaya consciousness and the active consciousness are different, in the state of Buddhahood, mirror-like wisdom and the other three wisdoms are also considered to be different entities. However, here, because we do not accept the alaya consciousness and the afflicted mind, we do not accept the mirror-like wisdom and the wisdom of equality as transformations of them. Therefore, it is reasonable to distinguish the four wisdoms through the perspective of their objects of focus. Secondly, these four wisdoms are also determined from the perspective of their objects as two types of wisdom: knowing the suchness and knowing the extent. The objects to be completely eliminated by them are determined as two types: the suchness of phenomena and the extent of phenomena. These are also from the perspective of their objects of focus, and not as entities, because in the state of Buddhahood, there is no difference between before and after, because there is no mind that is not constantly equal. If you ask: How can the two wisdoms, the suchness-object wisdom and the extent-object wisdom, not be contradictory? If we consider it from the perspective of entities, it is merely a wish, because the essence of the two truths is not different. If we consider it from the perspective of their objects of focus, although the two wisdoms are non-dual, they are merely different in characteristics. From the perspective of completely eliminating the unmixed aspects of interdependent, illusory appearances, it is the wisdom of knowing the extent; from the perspective of completely eliminating the emptiness free from elaboration, it is the wisdom of knowing the suchness.
