, and, although the path of application does not directly see the truth, it cultivates the nature of the truth in a general way. Because in the path of accumulation, listening and thinking are the main things, relying on augmentation; although the path of application is cultivation-born, it is only with a discriminating way that it enters the object in a general way. The Samadhi of the Mahayana Seeing Path is the wisdom of directly seeing the nature of reality free from elaboration. These are also the four truths such as the object of suffering, each of which has four Dharma-endurance Dharma-wisdom, and four kinds of endurance and wisdom, giving rise to sixteen moments of wisdom and endurance. Among them, the four Dharma-endurances are the uninterrupted path of abandoning the view to be abandoned in the desire realm; the four Dharma-wisdoms are the liberation that realizes its liberation. The four kinds of endurance are the uninterrupted path of abandoning the view to be abandoned in the two upper realms; the four kinds of wisdom are the liberation path that realizes its liberation. Therefore, it is said in the Abhidharmakosha: Endurance and wisdom are in order, the uninterrupted and the path of liberation. According to the Compendium of Topics, Dharma-endurance for suffering is: directly seeing the nature of the truth of suffering, the unpolluted wisdom contained in the uninterrupted path of abandoning all the suffering to be abandoned in the three realms. Dharma-wisdom is the unpolluted wisdom that has the same object and aspect as Dharma-endurance, and realizes the liberation of having abandoned the suffering to be abandoned, and becomes the nature of the path of liberation. The endurance of knowing later for suffering is the unpolluted wisdom that understands that the previous two endurance-wisdoms themselves are the cause of the holy dharmas. Class wisdom is the unpolluted wisdom that understands the class endurance itself. These two are the nature of difference. Similarly, the moments of the remaining truths should also be understood accordingly. Among them, Dharma-endurance and Dharma-wisdom are: realizing the grasped by realizing the nature of the truth; class endurance and class wisdom are realizing the grasper by realizing the true wisdom. Therefore, the commentary on the Compendium of Topics says: There are two objects of the seeing path, namely suchness and true wisdom.

It is said thus. Regarding the measure of a moment (kṣaṇa): It should be taken as the amount of time it takes for the wisdom that dispels the superimposition on the truths such as suffering to arise. It is not the final moment of time. In the root text: 'In the subsequent attainment of the noble ones' four truths, sixteen moments of knowledge and acceptance arise.' This is incorrect, because according to any system of the higher and lower Abhidharma, the sixteen moments are established in equipoise. And in the Sixty Stanzas on Reasoning: 'If after the attainment of Dharma, there is a distinction in this, then how can one analyze the arising of even the most subtle things? The unskilled one does not see the meaning of dependent arising.' In the commentary on this, Chandrakirti says that the path of seeing is one moment, and Simhabhadra also says: The very equipoise of the path of seeing is established as sixteen moments from the aspect of leading to sixteen different subsequent attainments. Second, it is extensively explained by the manner of arising of the paths of the Hearers and Solitary Realizers respectively. Among these, the actualizations of the Hearers and the actualizations of the Solitary Realizers. The first has three: the classification of the four pairs of individuals of the Stream-enterer fruit; the manner of liberation in the fastest three lifetimes; the combination of the actualizations of the Hearers and Solitary Realizers with the eight grounds. The first has two: the fruit in which one abides, and the classification of the individuals who abide in it. The first has five: the nature of the fruit, the determination of the number and order, the cause of attainment, and in which realm what is attained. The first is: the fruit of the ascetic, because it is the most excellent of fruits. It is also the nature of abandonment and realization. Each of these has eighty-nine and eighty-nine, that is, the four divisions of what is abandoned by seeing in the desire realm and the four divisions of what is abandoned by seeing in the two upper realms, the eight liberations arising from abandoning the eight divisions, and the corresponding liberations. In each of the nine grounds, there are the nine grades of great, medium, and small that are abandoned by meditation, the eighty-one liberations arising from abandoning the nine grades, and the corresponding liberations. Among these, the ascetic's way is the unobstructed path included in the uncontaminated, because by abandoning afflictions with this, one becomes a true ascetic, therefore it is called the ascetic's way. Thus, the sutra also says: The sinful and unwholesome dharmas, and extensively, the transformation of old age and death.
