As it is said, "If one does not observe oneself, how can one observe others?" The single argument of reversal, or the reductio ad absurdum that expresses contradiction, is: taking what others have admitted as a reason, if it cannot be done, cannot be acted upon, and if the self-nature is established before the definition, it will lead to no self-nature. For example: As it is said, "If the self-nature of space precedes space, then space does not exist at all. If the name precedes the self-nature, it will lead to no self-nature." The generalization of the same reason is: starting from the admission that cause and effect are different things, then thick flames will also arise from darkness. As it is said in the "Entering the Middle Way": "If something arises from relying on something else, then thick darkness will also arise from flames." The unestablishedness of the prover being the same as the proven is: if it is said that form has no self-nature, then, because the five aggregates are the same, feelings and so on should also have no self-nature. When someone says this, the Madhyamika believes that just as one dharma has no self-nature, everything should also be proven to have no self-nature, so they consider this a reductio ad absurdum, or the reason for refutation is not established. As it is said in the "Root Verses on the Middle Way": "When debating with emptiness, whoever answers the question, he has not answered all the questions, it is the same as what is to be proven. When explaining with emptiness, whoever points out the fault, he has not pointed out all the faults, it is the same as what is to be proven." These are called the four reasonings of the Madhyamika-Prasangika refuting the real existence of others, which is what the early scholars said. However, just as the Madhyamika-Prasangika do not have their own tenets, they also do not have their own reasonings. The four reasons for the Svatantrika to prove emptiness are: all internal and external things, as the subject to be established, are not truly established in the ultimate truth, because they are separated from the nature of one and many in the ultimate truth, just like form. This is analyzing the essence, that is, being separated from one and many. The way to prove the sign is: external things with limbs, such as pots, are not a whole, because if one part is covered, all parts will be covered, and if one part is painted, all parts will be

Because it would lead to faults such as alteration. The subtle atom is also not partless, because when the central atom is surrounded by the atoms of six directions, if any side of the central atom touches the eastern atom, and that side also touches the atoms of other directions, then the volume of an unaggregated mass and a subtle atom becomes the same. If another side of another direction touches the atom, then the subtle atom has six parts. As it is said, in the Twentieth Chapter: "When six surround simultaneously, the subtle atom becomes six parts. If the six are in the same place, the mass also becomes like a subtle atom." As it is said. Inner consciousness is also not truly existent as a partless moment, because if there are not the three parts of initial arising, final cessation, and intermediate abiding, then there is no difference in time between the prior limit of arising and the posterior limit of cessation. In that case, no matter how many moments are connected, it will not become a long time. Therefore, because there is no one, there is also no many, because many is preceded by the aggregation of one. Because the subtle atom and the moment have parts, there is no one, therefore the aggregated many also does not exist. As it is said. Also in the Ornament of the Middle Way it says: "These things spoken of by self and others, if in themselves, are neither one nor the nature of many, therefore they have no nature, like an image." As it is said. Moreover, all things do not arise ultimately, because ultimately they are separated from the four extremes of arising from self, other, both, and without cause. This is called The Diamond Splinters Examining Causes. As it is said. Also in the Root Verses on the Middle Way it says: "Not from self, not from other, not from both, not without cause. Things that arise, in whatever place, are never born." As it is said. The reason is established, because it does not arise from itself, because it is contradictory for itself to act on itself. For example, just as a finger cannot touch itself. It also does not arise from another, because it does not arise from a cause that is destroyed or not destroyed, because what is destroyed does not exist in substance, and if it arises from what is not destroyed, then it would follow that cause and effect are simultaneous. Because there are the two faults mentioned above, it also does not arise from both self and other, and it also does not arise from no cause, because it is either always existent or.
