This is the determination of the stages of mind that are free from attachment to desire: The dharma that is not free from attachment to desire is the realm of desire. Having abandoned attachment to desire, but not having abandoned attachment to the first dhyana, this is called the realm of the first dhyana, and so on, having abandoned attachment to nothingness, but not having abandoned attachment to the peak of existence, this is called the realm of the peak of existence. The higher proximate concentrations also belong to the higher realm because they are free from attachment to the lower (realms). Thus, the twelve links of dependent origination mentioned above are the cause and effect of samsara. Secondly, the reverse dependent origination is: when ignorance ceases, actions cease, and so on, when birth ceases, old age and death cease, this is the cause and effect of nirvana. This is the commentary on the third chapter of the "Collected Vinaya," which explains the distinctions of cause and effect. Chapter Four. Third, establishing the tenets of oneself and others, divided into other schools and one's own school. The first is those who assert annihilationism and those who assert eternalism. First, in general, the meaning of the term "Tirthika" is: because they enter the ford for liberation, they are called Tirthikas. But the Lokayata do not desire liberation, so they do not have the meaning of Tirthika. Among them, the doctrine of the Lokayata was taught by the divine teacher Brihaspati, and it is said that the sage World-Eye composed a treatise of one hundred thousand verses explaining the Lokayata. According to their view, beings do not come from a previous life, nor do they go from this life to a future life, therefore, the fruits of actions done in a previous life are not experienced in a future life. External and internal phenomena do not arise from causes such as karma or Ishvara, but are either established by their own nature from the beginning or arise suddenly. They state the reason, saying, "Lentils are round," etc., this is the Lokayata scripture. The sage World-Eye, because he wanted his daughter to hold the view of annihilationism, committed incest with his daughter, so he said verses such as "How much," that is, "How much is the object of the senses, the person is limited to that," meaning that there are no other worlds such as heaven and hell. "Blue" refers to his own so

This is a supplication to her. The so-called "what is said by the learned" refers to: The ascetic Gautama's teachings of heavens and hells, and the fruits of karma, etc., are similar to how in the past, a sage named Jackal deceived the world with lies. If there is no previous life, then from where does the mind arise? The mind is the essence of elements such as semen and blood. Therefore, the mind with senses is a manifest being with consciousness, and the other four elements that exist outside are also beings with non-manifest consciousness, because the mind exists in the nature of ability. Therefore, since the elements and the mind are not different, when the body with senses is destroyed, the mind also ceases, and there is no bondage of good and evil that connects previous and future lives, so it is called the Lokayata. Secondly, there are eight kinds of those who speak of permanence, the first being the view of the Samkhya school. Among them, the Kapila, Samkhya, and Thirty schools are different names. The teacher of the Samkhya, the great sage Kapila, said that if the number of knowables is summarized, it is twenty-four natures, the purusha, and twenty-five suchness. He himself said: If one knows these twenty-five suchness, then whether one remains with matted hair, shaved hair, or a diadem, in whatever form, one will be liberated, there is no obstacle to this. Among them, the characteristics of the self, the purusha of wisdom, are: it does not change in any state, so it is permanent; it is unmatched, so it is unique; it exists in the nature of experience, so it is conscious; it is neutral towards actions, so it is not a doer; because it enjoys objects, it is called an enjoyer. As it is said in the Madhyamakavatara: The enjoyer is permanent and real, not the agent, The qualities are inactive, contemplated by the Samkhyas. Depending on slight differences, The tenets of the heterodox schools became distinct. Thus it is taught. Desire, hatred, and ignorance, pleasure, pain, and equanimity, courage, rajas, and tamas are all different names. The state in which these three are unchanging and in equilibrium is called the Pradhana, which is the cause of all things except wisdom, and is permanent, unique, independent, without consciousness, so it is inanimate, and children.
