Thus, the smaller is established. As for what is said, "actions that have been done and accumulated," how is it accumulated? It is when one first generates the intention, consciously does it, and any action that can throw beings into good or bad destinies, that action is completely done, and after doing that action, there is no regret, there is no antidote that contradicts it, and one also does other actions of the same kind as that action, so that it is certain to produce cyclic existence and maturation; this is called "accumulated action." Other than that, what is done is not called accumulation. Second, explaining the three, cause, effect, and condition, in three parts. First, explaining the cause that accomplishes the effect, in brief and in detail. First is the brief: the "acting cause" that helps the fruit to arise, the "co-occurring cause" that helps the friend in the manner of a friend, the "equal share cause" that helps the fruit of the same kind, the "corresponding cause" that helps to hold the friend's object, the "all-going cause" that helps the afflicted fruit, and the "maturation cause" that helps the maturation fruit. In short, the cause is considered to be six kinds. Second, the detailed explanation is in six parts. First, the acting cause: the acting cause is divided into two, empty and non-empty. The former refers to all conditioned phenomena other than itself, because they do not hinder arising. Therefore, what is other than itself is called the cause of the acting cause. The acting cause is related to the action, such as when root consciousness arises, the root gives rise to attention to the object, and so on, all that helps the fruit to arise belongs to this. Second, the co-occurring cause refers to the situation where friends and friends are mutually cause and effect. For example, the four great elements of the same group, and as the Vaibhashikas say, the characteristic is conditioned phenomena, the nature is birth, and so on, and the mental and mental factors that have the same internal basis, and so on. As it is said: "Co-occurring mutually are fruits, like the mind's followers, like the mind's characteristics and nature." Third, the equal share cause refers to the cause that is similar to the fruit in kind and ground. That is, the previous similarity is the cause of the later similarity, not simultaneous or later.

It is not young. Moreover, the co-equal cause is similar. Self-category, oh, those born earlier, on the path of the nine grounds, mutually, exist with sameness and difference. Thus it is said. For example, the earlier internal virtues, non-virtues, and indeterminate dharmas are the co-equal cause of the later ones. The seeds of external barley and rice, etc., are the co-equal cause of the sprouts of that and that, like that. Fourth, the concurrent cause is: all minds and mental factors that depend on one sense faculty such as the eye, because those grasp the object with the power of accompanying each other. It is also said thus: The concurrent cause is the minds and, mental factors, those with the same basis. Thus it is said. Fifth, the all-going cause is: the earlier minds of afflictions such as desire, are the later, all-going cause of those. Although this is also a co-equal cause, this is established as a cause, etc., in relation to producing the afflicted fruit. That is, called all-going, the self-place of the afflicted ones, all-going five. Thus it is said. Sixth, the ripening cause is: only the non-virtuous and virtuous contaminated ones, because they produce the ripening fruit of wanting or not wanting in the later life. The uncontaminated is like a dry seed, separated from moisture, because it is not moistened by the moisture of craving, so it does not produce ripening. The indeterminate is like a rotten seed, because its nature is weak, so it cannot produce the ripening fruit. Second, the first of the two, sutra and commentary, regarding the fruit produced by those causes is: five, namely the ripening fruit, the cause-congruent fruit, the dominant fruit, the agent fruit, and the separation fruit. The first is: the obscured and indeterminate, born from virtue and non-virtue, gathered by the internal sentient being continuum. The second is: the fruit of the same kind as the cause. The third is: the fruit dominated by the cause. The fourth is: the fruit produced by the power of the cause. The fifth is: the cessation of what should be abandoned, destroyed by the antidote. It is also said thus: Ripening indeterminate dharma, mind
