Even if one intends to kill, the actual action will occur. Taking what is not given means knowingly taking possession of another's property through force or secret means. Wanting to enter where one should not enter is adultery, which has four aspects: places one should not go, such as with one's mother, sister, relatives within seven generations, or what is possessed by others, etc. Paths one should not take, such as the mouth and excretory passages, etc. Places one should not go, such as temples where there are images of deities, or in front of a large crowd, etc. Inappropriate times, such as during pregnancy or fasting, when one is in a state of abstinence, or when afflicted with an illness that makes sexual activity inappropriate, etc. Lying is when something exists in one state, but one wants to express it in another, thereby changing the perception of the language, and the other person clearly understands it. In this regard, what one wants to say should be stated truthfully. The basis of lying is the three: eye consciousness, ear consciousness, and mind consciousness, which are respectively about what is seen, heard, and known, saying "seen but not seen," etc., which is not in accordance with the facts. Slander is to separate others' friendship or lack of friendship, whether true or false, speaking words with a afflicted mind and making the other person understand. Harsh speech is speaking unpleasant words to others with a afflicted mind, which the other person understands without misunderstanding. All afflicted speech other than slander and the other two is idle talk, such as holding heretical views, reciting their evil scriptures, flattering monks with wrong livelihood, or singing and dancing out of desire, etc. Similarly, uttering mournful cries and worldly gossip are also idle talk. Covetousness is to be attached to others' wealth, wanting to take possession of it through force or secret means. Harmful intent is the hatred of wanting to harm other sentient beings. Believing that the results of good and evil are pleasure and pain, and that there is no transition from this life to the next, etc., is wrong view. Among these, the three mental actions of covetousness, etc., and the mental activities associated with them, are the aspects that operate according to their modes of action.

Therefore, it is the path of karma, not karma itself. Because it is neither the karma of body and speech, nor the mind. The nature of the actions of the seven branches of body and speech, such as killing, is karma, and it is also the path of karma, because the mind motivated by intention arises dependent on them. Second, explaining the path of virtuous karma: As previously stated, when the ten non-virtuous karmas abide in the root, the mind that arises to abandon them is definitely called the ten virtuous karmas. Furthermore, there are two types of karma: karma of mind and karma of thought. Among them, the first is the mind that initiates all actions of body and speech. The second is the virtuous or non-virtuous actions of body and speech. As it is said: Karma gives rise to various worlds, that is sentient beings and what is created by them, mind is the karma of mind, that gives rise to the karma of body and speech. Thus it is said. Second, explaining their differences, the first of the six, explaining the karma of definite experience: Performing non-virtuous deeds with strong afflictions, or performing virtuous deeds with great joy, or without these, benefiting or harming the field of merit such as the Three Jewels and special samadhi, and continuously performing virtuous or non-virtuous deeds, and the karma of killing parents, these are definitely to be experienced as ripening. As it is said: Afflictions fierce and powerful, field of merit and constant doer, and whoever kills parents, those are definitely to be known. Thus it is said. Among them, there are also three types: experiencing after birth, experiencing in another life, and experiencing in this life. The first is experiencing the ripening in the next life after performing the karma, such as the five immediate karmas. The second is experiencing the ripening from the second life onwards. The third is experiencing the ripening in the very moment of performing the karma. Armies, etc., for the same purpose, and many people jointly killing one who should be killed, and stealing the property of others, etc., because they are united in accomplishing the same purpose, all are like the killer, possessing the essence of the path of karma. If there is a determination not to kill for the sake of life, entering into a crowd...
