That which is able to continue in succession, arising from the four great elements as cause, is invisible and unimpeded. Although it is the nature of karma and action, it is not considered to be the mind of self-motivation, therefore it is called non-manifestation. The second division is non-manifestation, which is threefold. As stated in the Abhidharmakosha, the meaning has been explained before. Those who possess non-restraint are kings, ministers, butchers, hunters, and fishermen, etc., because they are always inseparable from the thought of harming others. The way to obtain non-restraint is to obtain it through engaging in non-restraint actions and making vows. As mentioned before, these people can obtain it merely by engaging in their own professions. Once one starts engaging in it, one can obtain it. If one is not of this kind, one also needs to make a living by this profession, and one can obtain it merely by making a vow. The way to abandon it is: by obtaining restraint, death, and the occurrence of dual genders, one abandons non-restraint. Dual gender is like a barren field, which grows neither grain nor vegetables, and is not a field for both restraint and non-restraint. Other than restraint and non-restraint, the virtue or non-virtue that arises in the continuum of both restraint and non-restraint is called intermediate virtue and non-virtue. The way to obtain it is: through the remaining non-manifestation field, receiving and respectful actions. For example, offering a temple to the Sangha, merely the field is established; for example, not eating food without prostrating to the Buddha, merely making a vow; for example, prostrating to a stupa, merely doing this action can obtain it. The way to abandon it is: through the power of the intermediate, the action of receiving, and the severance of things, life, and roots of virtue. Those actions that are aroused by strong faith or afflictions, merely the power of self-motivation is exhausted; those actions that are properly received, are abandoned by abandoning the vow; if the promised action is not completed; for example, the action of always circumambulating a stupa, when the stupa is damaged, the thing is severed, or life ends, or the roots of virtue are severed, thereby abandoning it. Secondly, the unconditioned, because it is not conditioned by causes and conditions, is called the unconditioned. It has three aspects: space and two cessations, and

Cessation and non-discriminating cessation. Among them, the characteristic of space is that it does not obscure other material objects and opens up all functions. In terms of the aspect of truth, the cessation obtained by discriminating with wisdom is discriminating cessation. That is, cessation is the liberation obtained by wisdom eliminating afflictions. According to the Vaibhashikas, there are as many existing substances as there are separated substances, but the substances are different from each other, not one. Otherwise, if one realizes the separation of abandoning what is abandoned by seeing suffering, then one also realizes the separation of abandoning the remaining what is abandoned by seeing suffering, so the subsequent moments of the path of seeing become meaningless. The cessation that permanently hinders the future arising of conditioned phenomena, if it is not discriminating cessation, is non-discriminating cessation. Because it is not obtained by discriminating with wisdom, but only obtained due to the lack of causes and conditions. The Vaibhashikas believe that these three are permanent dharmas, while the Sutrantikas and above believe that it is a negation of negation. Third, explaining the ayatanas. From the perspective of the gate of arising of the objects of the six consciousnesses, it is established as an ayatana. Therefore, the six faculties such as the eye are the objects of the six consciousnesses, and the gate of arising is opened from the gate of the place, so they are established as the six internal ayatanas. The six objects such as form open the gate of arising of these objects from the gate of the object, so they are established as the six external ayatanas. These are the twelve ayatanas. Second, common determination. Including: the method of summarizing, the meaning of words, the analysis of differences, and the necessity of explaining the three dharmas. First, the method of summarizing. The dharmas summarized by the skandhas, dhatus, and ayatanas mentioned earlier, if summarized briefly, are summarized by the three: the form skandha, the mind ayatana, and the dharma dhatu. In this way, the form skandha summarizes the ten form realms and the ten ayatanas, the mind ayatana summarizes the consciousness skandha and the seven consciousness realms, and the three skandhas such as feeling in the dharma dhatu, the side of the dharma ayatana.
