Even the smallest (happiness) is not considered satisfactory. Thus, even the happiness of a Chakravartin (wheel-turning king) is said to be a place of weariness. The Four Hundred Verses also says: For the wise, even the heavenly realm, is like hell, generating fear. For them, in all circumstances, it is difficult not to generate fear of existence. It also says: The result of evil in the world, I see only as strife. Therefore, samsara, for the holy ones, appears like a place of slaughter. Thus it is said. Therefore, remembering the faults of samsara, if there is no renunciation, the mind of seeking liberation will not arise. The Hundred Verses says: Who has no renunciation here, How can he have reverence for peace? Samsara, like one's own home, is extremely difficult to find liberation. Thus it is said. The Ornament of Commentary on Valid Cognition also says: The mind that has no renunciation for samsara, is not one that seeks liberation. Without being afflicted by suffering, beings will not generate renunciation. Thus it is said. Therefore, the Letter to a Friend says: If suddenly fire breaks out on your head or clothes, even abandoning the act of extinguishing it, strive to ensure that you are not born again, therefore there is no need greater than this. Thus it is said. Thus, through remembering all the faults of samsara, seeing samsara as a pit of fire, as an unclean abyss. Abandon it, and generate a genuine intention to attain liberation and nirvana. Second, actually contemplating the faults of samsara, divided into contemplating the general faults of samsara and contemplating the individual faults of each. The first is, the Letter to a Friend says: Indra is impoverished by desire, and death, old age, sickness, etc., the source of many sufferings, samsara, should be renounced, and please listen to a fraction of its faults. Thus it is said. Calling out to Indra, impoverished by desires for food, clothing, etc., and ultimately death, the temporary occurrence of changing sickness, the aging of changing age, and the summarized sadness, the source of many sufferings such as wailing, etc., samsara must be renounced. Because without renunciation of samsara, the mind of seeking liberation will not arise. In order to generate it, please listen to a little bit of the faults of samsara. The faults of samsara

It is impossible to express completely, and even hearing a part of it is enough to cause weariness. Furthermore, all beings are tossed about by the four great rivers of aging, sickness, death, and decay, and are places of suffering and weariness. As it says in the "Advice to the King": For example, four great mountains, solid and stable, possessing essence, not destroyed, not broken, without gaps, and extremely hard, come from four directions, towering and massive, touching the sky and overturning the earth, grinding into powder all grasses, trees, shrubs, branches, leaves, and all sentient beings. In this situation, it is not easy to escape quickly, or to resist with strength, or to resist with wealth, or to resist with objects, mantras, or medicine. Great King, similarly, four great fears come, and it is not easy to escape quickly from them, or to resist with strength, or to resist with wealth, or to resist with objects, mantras, or medicine. What are the four? They are aging, sickness, death, and decay. Great King, aging destroys youth, sickness destroys health, decay destroys all perfections, and death destroys life. It is not easy to escape quickly from these, or to resist with strength, or to resist with wealth, or to pacify them with objects, mantras, or medicine. So it is said. Second, thinking about the faults of each specifically, among them, thinking about the suffering of the five realms, the first is thinking about the suffering of hell: Beings who commit evil deeds, such as rebirth, black thread, extreme heat, etc., crushing together, wailing, without interruption, etc., constantly suffer in the hells. So it is said. Beings, through the evil deeds of body, speech, and mind, in the rebirth hell, the black thread hell, the crushing together hell, the wailing hell, the great wailing hell, the hot hell, the extremely hot hell, the uninterrupted hell, etc., and the remaining neighboring hells and cold hells, will constantly experience suffering. Among them, the rebirth hell is: When beings born there see each other, the things they pick up out of fear become sharp weapons.
