If I don't die, I will repeatedly contemplate that I will definitely experience suffering in the lower realms in the next life, and cultivate compassion. That is, when inhaling, contemplate that all of the mother's suffering and the causes of suffering are absorbed into oneself; when exhaling, contemplate that all of one's own happiness and virtue are absorbed into the mother's continuum. Among them, wishing to be separated from suffering and the causes of suffering is compassion, and wishing to have happiness and the causes of happiness is loving-kindness. Therefore, loving-kindness and compassion will be cultivated simultaneously. If one cultivates by focusing on all sentient beings, then joy, which is inseparable from happiness, and equanimity, which is without partiality, will also arise incidentally. To cultivate compassion by contemplating the suffering of beings is: in this way, by cultivating compassion for the root mother, a strong compassion arises, and using this as a seed, contemplate that the sentient beings dwelling in the six realms suffer from the three kinds of suffering in various ways, and thereby cultivate compassion focused on all sentient beings. Among them, the hell beings, as mentioned before, are continuous and long-lasting, and are immersed in the river of various sufferings such as heat and cold, as the Bhagavan declared. These beings are also kind benefactors whom I have not abandoned since beginningless time, and it is pitiful that they experience such suffering due to the power of negative karma. Repeatedly contemplate this and cultivate compassion, and practice giving and taking. The way to cultivate compassion and practice giving and taking in this way is that below, one should also cultivate after contemplating the suffering of each being. Similarly, most of the pretas also experience extremely unbearable hunger and thirst, and their bodies, scorched by the fire of hunger and thirst, suffer greatly. Some pretas cannot even find ashes of saliva or impure things to eat for a hundred years, as the Bhagavan declared. Animals also only appear to experience the suffering of eating each other, anger, harming each other, killing, etc. For example, some animals are pierced through the nose, whipped, bound, and enslaved, etc., and they have no control over themselves, and everything is manipulated by others, unwillingly carrying heavy and unbearable loads.

It is depressing and exhausting! Similarly, some people deliberately seek out and kill those who are innocent, even those residing in monasteries. Constantly disturbed by fear, countless people live together and flee, only experiencing immeasurable suffering. Similarly, for humans, there is only the suffering of hell beings, etc. Here, the suffering of those who are thieves, etc., having their limbs cut off, being tortured with instruments, whipped, bound, etc., is solely the suffering of hell beings. Those who are poor and destitute are like hungry ghosts, suffering from hunger and thirst, etc. Those who are slaves, etc., whose bodies are controlled by others, and those who are harmed by being oppressed by power, are like animals, suffering from beatings and being driven, etc. Similarly, being hunted, harming one another, etc., being separated from loved ones, encountering the unloved, etc., all involve immeasurable suffering. Some may appear to be rich and happy, but the end of wealth is decline, and they are afflicted by various evil views, leading to ruin. They accumulate much karma and afflictions that cause them to fall into hell, etc., and like sitting on the edge of a cliff, they only become a source of suffering. For the gods, those who indulge in the desire realm have their minds intensely burned by the fire of desire, and like being mentally disturbed, they cannot be calm. They cannot even keep their minds still for a moment. What happiness do those who lack the wealth of complete peace have? They are constantly oppressed by the sorrow of death, downfall, and other fears. What is their situation like? Those who dwell in the form and formless realms, although they have transcended the suffering of momentary pain, they have not completely abandoned the latent tendencies of indulging in the desire realm, so there is the possibility of falling into hell, etc., again. Therefore, the suffering of change still exists. All these gods and humans are controlled by others due to causes such as karma and afflictions, so it is the suffering of conditioned existence. Thus,
