Said. Thus it is said. That Bodhisattva whose mind abides in the non-dual wisdom called "Extremely Joyful" is said to be the first generation of mind of the sons of the Buddhas. If asked, what is the special feature of the Extremely Joyful Ground? Abiding in which generation of mind, the Bodhisattva sees beings as being without self-nature in the manner described, and becomes independent of the compassion without object. In order to liberate beings, the aspiration of the Bodhisattva Samantabhadra, that is, "All the Buddhas who have passed away in the three times, the differences of the Bodhisattva's conduct and aspirations, etc.", such as the ten great aspirations collected in this way, make countless hundreds of thousands of great aspirations, which are called Extremely Joyful. Secondly, there are two explanations: common characteristics and the main perfection of giving. In the first, briefly describe the merits of obtaining a special name, that is: From then on, he has obtained it. It should be interpreted with the name of Bodhisattva. Thus it is said. From the time of obtaining the first generation of mind, that Buddha-son should only be interpreted with the name of Bodhisattva, and should not be interpreted with ordinary beings, etc. Because he has obtained the ultimate generation of mind, he has surpassed the ground of ordinary beings at that time and become a saint. As the Blessed Mother Two Thousand Five Hundred Verses said: The name of Bodhisattva is the superior word of the sentient being who follows the realization, who follows the realization and knows all the dharmas. How to know? Not born, not truly born, not destroyed, they are not as measured by ordinary beings, nor are they as attained by ordinary beings, hence the name Bodhisattva. Thus it is said. The position of obtaining the first generation of mind as described above is not only interpreted with the name of Bodhisattva, but also: This is the lineage son of the Tathagata, this has abandoned the three bonds, he is the holder of supreme joy.

I. I am also able to shake a hundred thousand worlds. This Bodhisattva who abides in the first stage of generation of the mind is born into the lineage of the Tathāgata, because he has transcended all the stages of ordinary beings, those newly born, and solitary Buddhas, and because he has generated the path that follows the stage of the Tathāgata called "All-Illuminating." The coemergent wrong view, doubt, and holding to precepts and asceticism as supreme, which are the three habitual attachments in the continuum of this Bodhisattva, have also been abandoned, because he has directly seen the selflessness of the person. That Bodhisattva also possesses the supreme joy that transcends the world, because he has entered into the certainty of suchness, has obtained the qualities that are the cause of it, and because he is free from the faults that are contrary to the stage, and has generated a unique distinction of joy, he is exceedingly joyful. Therefore, this stage will also obtain the name "Extremely Joyful." He is also able to shake a hundred thousand worlds with the power of miraculous abilities. Furthermore, from stage to stage, he will suppress and ascend higher. At that time, the path to evil destinies will be cut off, and the stages of ordinary beings will be exhausted. This is shown to be like the eighth noble one. This means that from a lower stage, he suppresses a higher stage, and also ascends higher and higher, just as he is accustomed to the Dharma he has comprehended, and because he is very enthusiastic about suppressing the second stage and so on. At that time, because this continuum has obtained the discipline of not committing non-virtuous actions, all paths to evil destinies will be cut off, and because he has seen the truth, the stages of ordinary beings will also be exhausted. In short, just as for those who have constantly entered the stream, from the realization of the noble Dharma that accords with themselves, faults are eliminated and qualities arise, similarly, this Bodhisattva who abides in the first stage of generation of the mind, also from the realization of the stage, qualities that are appropriate to himself arise, and faults are exhausted, which is explained by way of the example of the eighth noble one, the stream-enterer. In order to show the distinction of the superior intention of the Bodhisattva who abides in the first stage of generation of the mind, perfect enlightenment
