If one wishes to say something, it is not to establish some of one's own views, or to exclude the views of others, because there is nothing to be excluded. Therefore, we have no fault of being accused of attacking without reason, as has been said before. The remaining similar refutations should be understood by their respective views. Thus, from "whether it arises from it" to "if analyzed, one will quickly be liberated," the selflessness was extensively explained. From "afflictions and faults" up to this point, the selflessness of the person was extensively explained. Summarizing the Two Selflessnesses: Having extensively explained the two selflessnesses in this way, wanting to briefly summarize and explain their differences, it is said: This selflessness is to liberate beings, It is taught as two, divided by phenomena and person. This selflessness, if briefly summarized, is divided into two by the difference between the selflessness of phenomena and the selflessness of the person. Why are two selflessnesses taught? It is to liberate sentient beings from the afflictive obscurations and the cognitive obscurations. Thus, for the Hearers and Solitary Realizers, the selflessness of the person is taught to liberate them from the afflictive obscurations; for the Mahayanists, the selflessness of phenomena is taught to liberate them from the cognitive obscurations. If it is said that Hearers and Solitary Realizers also realize the selflessness of phenomena, then how can it be said that only the selflessness of the person is taught to them? It is true. However, they do not emphasize understanding objects of knowledge, so they do not fully cultivate the selflessness of phenomena. Therefore, the selflessness of phenomena is not extensively explained to them. In order to seek liberation, they have the complete cultivation of the selflessness of the person as a method to abandon the afflictions of the three realms. Therefore, only the selflessness of the person is taught. Even so, the realization of the selflessness of the person depends on the realization of the lack of inherent existence of the aggregates, so it is not that they do not realize the selflessness of phenomena. Thus, the teacher said again: These two, for the sake of sentient beings, The teacher taught in various ways.

These two non-existent ways, the Blessed One, according to the inclinations of the beings to be tamed, divided into many and taught. How so? Emptiness together with elaboration, having explained sixteen and then summarized, again explained four, these are also accepted in the Great Vehicle. As it is said, in the Prajnaparamita Sutra: Subhuti, furthermore, the Mahayana of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva is as follows: internal emptiness, external emptiness, internal-external emptiness, emptiness of emptiness, great emptiness, ultimate emptiness, conditioned emptiness, unconditioned emptiness, boundless emptiness, emptiness of beginninglessness and endlessness, emptiness of non-abandonment, emptiness of self-nature, emptiness of all dharmas, emptiness of self-characteristic, emptiness of unobtainability, emptiness of non-entity of things. Thus, having extensively explained sixteen emptinesses, Subhuti, furthermore, things are empty by things, non-things are empty by non-things, self-nature is empty by self-nature, other things are empty by other things. Thus, having summarized, again explained four emptinesses. These emptinesses are also called the Great Vehicle, because as an antidote to the obscurations of knowledge, the selflessness of phenomena is extensively taught. In order to explain each of those sixteen emptinesses, it is said: Because that is its self-nature, therefore the eye is empty by the eye. Likewise, the ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind should also be spoken of. Because it is not constantly abiding, nor is it destructible. The selflessness of the six, the eye and so on, that is considered internal emptiness. Among them, from the eye to the source of mind, is called internal dharma. If they also had a little self-nature, they would either become non-destructive and constantly abiding, or they would become impermanent, destructible in an instant and continuously, because it is impossible for things to have other forms. They are merely imputed dependent arising, without any self-nature, therefore they are not constantly abiding, nor are they permanent.
