In order to clarify the meaning of the expressible through examples, it is explained: Just as the various characteristics that exist in the orb of the sun, can also be seen in the reflection, at that time, the reasons for the sun and the reflection being in contact or not in contact are untenable, the reflection is merely nominally dependently arisen. Although it is not there, it can establish the beauty of its own appearance, similarly, here too, the face of wisdom must be polished. In order to see the ability to polish, the reason is that even if it is untrue, one can understand what is to be established. For example, the various characteristics of the sun's orb, such as being obscured by stars, etc., when the sun's reflection appears in very clear water, can be seen and understood, at that time, because the reflection has no inherent nature, the reasons for being in contact or not in contact with the sun's orb cannot be measured, but due to the causes of clear water and proximity to the object, the reflection is merely nominally dependently arisen, and although it has no inherent nature, one can understand from it the characteristics of the sun, such as being obscured by stars, etc. In very clear water, although the reflection of the face that appears has no inherent nature, relying on it, one can establish and understand the differences between one's own appearance being beautiful or not beautiful, similarly, using the refutation of no inherent nature to refute the opponent, here too, one must polish the stain of ignorance on the face of wisdom of any refuter, from which one can see the ability to create the reflection of the meaning that one wants to express, the reason stated by the Madhyamikas, even if it is an untrue inherent nature, one can understand the meaning to be established, such as the tenet that phenomena are established by their own nature being contrary to reason. Furthermore, if one possesses the actual reason that expresses oneself, and also the nature of what is to be established that is actually expressed, then the reasoning of contact, etc., could be used to refute, but because it does not exist, your efforts are merely in vain. If the Madhyamikas possessed a reason that expresses their own system, and some things that are established by their own nature that are to be expressed, then one could use the reasoning of the reason and what is to be established being in contact or not in contact, etc., to refute, but we do not have reasons, etc., that are established by their own nature, so you

Recognizing that their raising objections such as the same fault in their own words is merely discouraging. For example, just as the vision of someone with cataracts does not harm someone without cataracts, even if one fully grasps both sides to raise objections to those who proclaim selflessness, it will not cause harm. Therefore, those examples that are considered to be able to perform their respective functions without contact, such as eyes and magnets, should also be negated, because the same fault will occur for those examples as well. Furthermore, in order to make things understood as selfless, it is not possible to easily make others understand them as having self-nature in that way. Why then do you use bad reasoning to confuse the world? Just as it is easy to make external and internal things understood as selfless by using examples that are established in one's own position, such as dreams and illusions, it is not possible to easily prove to other Madhyamikas that things have self-nature, because there are no examples that are recognized by both sides, because we do not admit even a little self-nature in anything. In this way, I can refute all arguments, and no one can refute me. Therefore, why do you, like a silkworm in the world, weave a net with extremely strong threads of bad reasoning everywhere on top of being wrapped in the cocoon of your own conceptual thoughts? Furthermore, know that the remaining objections mentioned above, and for the examination of contact, etc., this should be answered: How does the objection thoroughly refute the opponent? The remaining part of what was said before should be understood from this aspect. For those who proclaim that cause and effect are established by their own nature, the remaining objections, such as the negation of things arising from the four extremes, etc., which have been explained before, should be known, and then for any opponent who raises the objection that your objection refutes with this objection, whether it is contact or non-contact, the answer to the examination of the objection, etc., should also be said that neither the refuted nor the refuter arises from the four extremes, therefore it is impossible to distinguish between contact and non-contact. In our treatises, it is only the reversal of conceptual thoughts.
