Thus it is said. In this, there is also no existence of permanence and impermanence, etc. As it is said: Where are the four, such as permanence and impermanence, in peace? Where are the four, such as end and endlessness, in peace? Whoever is seized by the dense clinging of saying that the Tathagata exists, that one makes the conceptualization of non-existence in Nirvana. In that emptiness of self-nature, after the Buddha has passed into Nirvana, it is not reasonable to think whether he exists or does not exist. Thus it is said. This self is not present as the same as or different from the aggregates. As it is said: If the aggregates were the self, it would become something that arises and ceases. If it were other than the aggregates, it would become without the characteristics of the aggregates. Thus it is said. If one seeks with seven aspects, then that self, which does not abide in any extreme such as permanence and impermanence, if it is not inherently existent, then from what cause does it arise? In whom does the mind of clinging to self always arise in beings, and in whatever of that, the self in whom the mind of clinging to mine arises, that is from ignorance in unexamined fame. When one seeks completely, those who are outside of this Dharma manifestly cling to being different from the aggregates, and their own schools hold that it is the nature of the aggregates or that it cannot be said to be the same or different, and those who have understood the non-inverted teachings closely shown by the Sugata understand that it is merely imputed in dependence on the aggregates, so it is not inherently existent, and having understood this, one who is liberated a hundred times is the self. Like that, in whom does the mind of clinging to self always arise in all beings such as humans, pretas, and animals who are connected to ignorance, and in whatever of that self is to be controlled, or in whatever is the basis of imputation, such as the eye, etc., internally, and forms, etc., externally, the self in whom the mind of clinging to mine arises is only following the fame of the world without examination, and is established by the power of ignorance, but is not established by its own nature. Because this self is not inherently existent, but rather a term is applied from ignorance, for that very reason, yogis should meditate on selflessness.

Not observing, because not observing, the self of my also becomes unobserved, as it depends on it. Therefore, one will be liberated from samsara. As it is said: When both inside and outside are pure, when the thought of self and mine is exhausted, the clinging will cease, and when that ceases, birth ceases. Thus it is said. If there is no self, then is there also no mine? Why? Because the maker is non-existent from the non-existent, therefore, because there is no self, there is no mine. Therefore, by viewing the emptiness of self and mine, the yogi will be liberated. Just as without a potter there is no pot, so without a maker there is no action, the maker is the object into which the action enters, hence it is called action. Therefore, since the self that is the maker is non-existent, the mine that is the action is also non-existent, so the yogi who views the aggregates as empty of self and mine will be liberated. Secondly, this also indicates other similar things, such as the terms of self and its clinging, etc., are the same as the way of analyzing a chariot. To explain that other things are also like this, as the verse says: Pots, clothes, ropes, armies, and rosaries, forests, vehicles, houses, and other things, by which means does the world speak of them, one should understand as pots, clothes, ropes, etc., like a chariot, when analyzed in seven ways, are not existent, other than that, relying on their own parts such as cotton threads, by which means do worldly beings speak of them, one should understand in that way. Why? The capable one does not argue with the world, the world argues with me, I do not argue with the world. In the sutra it says that the capable one does not argue or refute the terms of the world, but rather acknowledges the terms that are commonly used in the world. Furthermore, in what way does the world apply terms to things? Qualities, limbs, attachment, and nature, trees, etc., qualities, body, attachment, and characteristics, fire, etc. By the analysis of a chariot, none of the seven aspects exist, other than that, they exist in the common parlance of the world. Pot and fire
