Therefore, the afterlife can be understood. For example, when a person with blurred vision sees two moons in the sky that do not exist, and other things like hairs and flies appear, these are not real. Similarly, the elements such as earth, which become the source of all internal and external things, the self-nature that is perceived by your (Vaisheshika's) consciousness, the elements such as earth do not possess that self-nature. If only the elements were the cause of consciousness, then external land, stones, etc., should also have consciousness, and their results, such as breathing, should also be perceived. Therefore, Vaisheshika, for those who are shrouded in the darkness of ignorance, even the nature of things like earth that manifest in this world cannot be understood, how can they correctly understand the extremely subtle afterlife, which is the realm of the divine eye? That is impossible. Furthermore: When denying the afterlife, the self is, Understood as seeing the knowable perversely. Because it has a body similar to the form of that view, Whenever the elements are admitted to exist, it is the same. There are two situations for the Vaisheshika: namely, the stage of understanding the nature of the elements as true, and the stage of denying the afterlife. Among them, when denying "there is no afterlife," the self of the Vaisheshika should be understood as seeing the knowable perversely, because it has a body with the nature of the elements, similar to the form of that perverse view. When the self-nature of the elements is admitted to be truly existent, it is like seeing the knowable perversely. If it is thought that when the self-nature of the elements is admitted to exist, the analogy is not established because the knowable is not understood perversely, that is also incorrect. Because how those elements do not exist has already been said. Because earlier, both self and other, and causeless arising, have already been jointly refuted. An element that has not been spoken of does not exist. How do those elements not have a true nature?

Since it is so, we have already said it. Because above, it has been refuted that all things commonly arise from self, other, both, and without cause, so there is no saying of selflessness, where would there be even a little bit of truth? Therefore, since the elements do not have inherent existence, the example is established. Similarly, for those who slander the all-knowing, and who speak of things as existing, not existing, Ishvara, time, atoms, and nature, etc., one should apply inverted conceptualizations. Like this: When refuting the perfectly enlightened Buddha, one is oneself, one should understand that one is looking at the nature of knowable things in a perverse way. Because the form of his view is the same as the basis, because he has a body. When one accepts that there are elements, it is the same. Etc., one should recite and translate, because one wants to ultimately refute all views such as existence and non-existence. If you ask: Isn't this fallacy also the same for you? The answer is: No, because I do not have an example of establishing perversion. Not only is there no example, but when one thinks that there is another world, one, one should know that one is realizing the excellent meaning of the nature of knowable things. Because the form of his view is the same as the basis, because he has a body. When one accepts the realization of selflessness, it is the same. It can also be said like this. Here too, there is no example, because selflessness has been proven by reason and will be proven. Secondly, in order to show that it is because of that reason that there is no inherent existence, there are two parts: things and refuting disputes. The first part is: If things do not arise from self, other, both, and without cause, then how do they arise? Because arising from self, other, both, and not relying on cause, things are devoid of inherent existence. If things have some inherent existence, then it is impossible to have other ways of arising, because one must arise from any of the four extremes, for what reason? As said above, it is impossible to arise in the way of self, other, both, and not relying on cause, therefore things are separate from inherent existence. In name, abandoning the analysis of the four extremes, it is said that sprouts arise from seeds, etc.
