That which is said is of definitive meaning. In which sutra is it said that the sounds and various voices of self (བདག,梵文ātman,梵文罗马拟音ātman,汉语字面意思:self), sentient beings (སེམས་ཅན,梵文sattva,梵文罗马拟音sattva,汉语字面意思:sentient being), life (སྲོག,梵文jīva,梵文罗马拟音jīva,汉语字面意思:life), nourisher (གསོ་བ་པོ,梵文poṣaka,梵文罗马拟音poṣaka,汉语字面意思:nourisher), person (སྐྱེས་བུ,梵文puruṣa,梵文罗马拟音puruṣa,汉语字面意思:person), individual (གང་ཟག,梵文pudgala,梵文罗马拟音pudgala,汉语字面意思:individual), born of strength (ཤེད་ལས་སྐྱེས,梵文balaja,梵文罗马拟音balaja,汉语字面意思:born of strength), strength-possessor (ཤེད་བུ,梵文balin,梵文罗马拟音balin,汉语字面意思:strength-possessor), doer (བྱེད་པ་པོ,梵文kāraka,梵文罗马拟音kāraka,汉语字面意思:doer), and feeler (ཚོར་བ་པོ,梵文vedaka,梵文罗马拟音vedaka,汉语字面意思:feeler) are said to be like having an owner for what is ownerless, that is of provisional meaning. In which sutra is it said that emptiness (སྟོང་པ་ཉིད,梵文śūnyatā,梵文罗马拟音śūnyatā,汉语字面意思:emptiness), signlessness (མཚན་མ་མེད་པ,梵文animitta,梵文罗马拟音animitta,汉语字面意思:signlessness), wishlessness (སྨོན་པ་མེད་པ,梵文apraṇihita,梵文罗马拟音apraṇihita,汉语字面意思:wishlessness), non-manifestation (མངོན་པར་འདུ་བྱེད་པ་མེད་པ,梵文anabhisaṃskāra,梵文罗马拟音anabhisaṃskāra,汉语字面意思:non-manifestation), unarisen (མ་བྱུང་བ,梵文anutpāda,梵文罗马拟音anutpāda,汉语字面意思:unarisen), unborn (མ་སྐྱེས་པ,梵文ajāta,梵文罗马拟音ajāta,汉语字面意思:unborn), non-entity (དངོས་པོ་མེད་པ,梵文avastu,梵文罗马拟音avastu,汉语字面意思:non-entity), non-sentient being (སེམས་ཅན་མེད་པ,梵文asattva,梵文罗马拟音asattva,汉语字面意思:non-sentient being), non-life (སྲོག་མེད་པ,梵文ajīva,梵文罗马拟音ajīva,汉语字面意思:non-life), non-individual (གང་ཟག་མེད་པ,梵文apudgala,梵文罗马拟音apudgala,汉语字面意思:non-individual), ownerlessness (བདག་པོ་མེད་པ,梵文asvāmin,梵文罗马拟音asvāmin,汉语字面意思:ownerlessness), and the doors of liberation are spoken of, that is of definitive meaning. Because it is said so. Thus, in the Noble Explanation of the Thought, the sutras that show all phenomena to be without essence are of provisional meaning, and those that show that the thoroughly conceptualized does not exist and the other-powered exists are also intentional, and this is known by this very scripture and is also established by reason. There is no harm to the actual meaning of the sutras that show all phenomena to be unborn, because all phenomena are prevented and stopped from arising from the four extremes. The actual meaning of the sutras that show the existence of the other-powered is not established as it is, because the other-powered being established as a substance has already been well prevented by scripture and reason. Thus, whichever sutra's directly stated meaning is not harmed by reason is of definitive meaning, and whichever sutra's directly stated meaning is harmed by reason is called provisional meaning. In other sutras, what is the meaning of the three natures, the thoroughly conceptualized, the other's power, and the thoroughly established? For example, the entity of a snake is thoroughly conceptualized on the dependent arising of a coiled rope, because when the rope is grasped as a snake, there is no snake on the rope. For the entity of a snake, the snake itself is thoroughly established, because grasping a snake as a snake is not a nominal thoroughly conceptualized. The nature is also thoroughly conceptualized on the dependent arising of the other-powered, because when children grasp the dependent arising as nature or essence, like a snake on a rope, for the dependent arising, it is

It is not as I am, because dependent arising is artificial, born from causes and conditions, and true nature is not like that. As it is said in the treatise: "True nature is unartificial, and does not depend on others." This is what is said. And that true nature is real in the emptiness, which is the realm of the Buddhas, because the Buddhas manifest and realize that the true nature of phenomena is unartificial, therefore they are called Buddhas. Thus, conventional dependent arising is dependent on causes and conditions, so it is other-powered. And the nature, reality, and unconditioned essence are imputed on conventional dependent arising, and emptiness is the perfectly established essence in the ultimate truth. This should be known. The Mind-Only proponents say that the thoroughly conceptualized consciousness, which is devoid of meaning, is not the correct one, and that the apprehended and the apprehender are the thoroughly conceptualized. Although they believe that the other-powered nature, which is empty from the beginning by thorough conceptualization, is the perfectly established, since there is no other-powered nature other than the apprehended and apprehender that are known in the world, their assertion of the three natures is also not established. The meaning of the sutras that say that the thoroughly conceptualized does not exist and the other-powered does exist is that the other-powered dependent arising exists nominally, and the proponents of self and other schools conceptualize it as a true nature, which is not established even nominally. The Mind-Only proponents explain that the other-powered is substantially established, and the thoroughly conceptualized exists nominally but not in reality. However, the substantial establishment of the other-powered has already been refuted. And the apprehended and apprehender, which they consider to be thoroughly conceptualized, exist nominally, but because they are dependent arising, they are other-powered, not thoroughly conceptualized. And the conceptualization of this as an unartificial nature does not exist even nominally. Furthermore, the meaning of the sutras that say that the thoroughly conceptualized is the nature of no nature, the other-powered is the nature of arising without nature, and the perfectly established is the ultimate naturelessness is very consistent with the three natures of the Madhyamikas.
