As stated by the noble Aryadeva: Just as the language of other barbarians cannot be understood, similarly, without relying on worldly people, the world cannot be understood. It is like that. If analyzed, even worldly names will disappear. As stated in the sutra: For example, relying on wood and strings, and with the effort of hands, when these three factors come together, sound arises from playing the lute, flute, and other instruments. Then, some wise people analyze and investigate where this sound comes from and where it goes. No matter from which direction or corner they investigate, they cannot find the origin or destination of the sound. Similarly, all changing things arise from causes and conditions. Yogis who see with correct view see that all conditioned things are empty and unmoving. The aggregates, sense bases, and elements are empty internally and empty externally. Sentient beings are without self and without a place. The nature of phenomena is like the essence of space. It is like that. If someone says that attachment to conventional truth becomes the cause of affliction and purification, therefore some things must arise with their own nature in the conventional. Then, saying that is just empty words. Therefore, in the context of ultimate truth, by what reason is it reasonable for things to arise from self and other? Since that reason is also unreasonable in conventional truth, then how can your arising be established? When analyzing ultimate truth, as said before, by some reason it is proven that things do not arise from self and other, the same reason also proves that in conventional truth, things do not arise from self and other. Therefore, for things, arising by their own nature is not established in either of the two truths. Second, refuting the unreasonableness of negation, including: eliminating contradictions with what is seen, and explaining the reasonableness of the relationship of karma and result. First, if things do not arise by their own nature in either of the two truths, then how can their own nature be perceived in the world? Empty things, such as images, etc.

Things that depend on conditions are not unknown. Just as there, from emptiness, images and so on, the appearance of consciousness arises. Similarly, even if all things are empty, they will arise from emptiness. Things that are empty of inherent existence, such as images, arise in dependence on the collection of causes and conditions, and this is not unknown in the world. Therefore, just as from images and so on, which are empty of inherent existence, the consciousness that takes them as objects arises in the form of those images, so too, even if all things such as form and feeling are empty of inherent existence, they will arise from the emptiness of their own causes and conditions. Therefore, the absence of inherent existence does not contradict arising in name, just like images and so on. As it is said: In a mirror that is perfectly clear, just as an image without inherent existence appears, so too, the wise should understand all phenomena. For this very reason, there is no inherent existence in either of the two truths, therefore, they are neither permanent nor annihilated. Because things are without inherent existence like images, therefore, there is no inherent existence in either the ultimate truth or the conventional truth. Therefore, they are neither permanent nor annihilated. As it is said in the treatise: If there is an essence, then it is permanent because it is not non-existent. If it is said that it existed before but does not exist now, then it would follow that it is annihilated. Similarly, if things are asserted to exist, then one will fall into the view of permanence and annihilation, because that thing is permanent and impermanent. As it is said. The explanation of the connection between action and result. Secondly, in explaining the connection between action and result, explaining the basis of things and action and result is taught as definitive meaning. The first point is that because there is no inherent existence in either of the two truths, not only is the fault of permanence and annihilation avoided, but even if there is no basis for action such as the alaya consciousness, the relationship between action and result is reasonable. Like this: Because it does not cease by its own nature, therefore, even without the alaya consciousness, it is able to function. In some cases, even if the action has ceased for a long time, understand that the result will still arise accurately.
