The correct view that completely cuts off all characteristics of elaboration is manifested. By becoming accustomed to such meditative equipoise and subsequent attainment, eventually the yogi's mind will abide in such meditative equipoise, characterized by the pacification of all elaborations, as just described. At that time, the designation of "manifestly realizing the Dharmakaya" is obtained. Therefore, in this treatise as well, it will be explained: 'The dry fuel of all knowable things, when burned, is pacified, that is the Dharmakaya of the Victorious Ones. At that time, there is no birth and no cessation. The cessation of mind is the manifest realization by the Kaya.' Therefore, the object, emptiness that is free from all elaborations, is designated as the ultimate truth; and the subject, the Perfection of Wisdom that realizes emptiness, there is not even the slightest difference. When the yogi's mind, through the power of discriminating wisdom, transforms into the nature of emptiness, it is merely the establishment of the names of the Perfection of Wisdom and non-conceptual wisdom. Thus, there are two types of Perfection of Wisdom: the Perfection of Wisdom without appearance and the Perfection of Wisdom with appearance. Among these, the Perfection of Wisdom without appearance refers to the non-conceptual meditative equipoise that is free from all elaborations. The Perfection of Wisdom with appearance refers to the wisdom of subsequent attainment that understands all phenomena as emptiness, free from all elaborations, as dependent arising, merely as suchness, which is what is called the name of correct view. There is no difference at all in the Perfection of Wisdom without appearance in the state of the ten bhumis. The Perfection of Wisdom with appearance has differences in the way it understands the all-pervading Dharmadhatu, and so on. These two Perfections of Wisdom should also be understood as being in the manner of principal and secondary. Second, in establishing the emptiness of objects, there are also what it relies on to be explained, what object is explained, and what Dharma is explained. First

Here it is said, "Seeing this very nature of dependent arising, the wise, abiding in wisdom, will attain cessation." What is the suchness of dependent arising that is spoken of? How does a Bodhisattva see it? Its own nature is not the object of beings like us, whose eyes of wisdom are covered by the thick film of ignorance. Rather, it is the object of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas who possess the eye of wisdom that sees suchness as it is, having removed the film of dimness of ignorance with the eye medicine of non-perverted emptiness. Therefore, one should ask them about it. If it is said, "Isn't it stated in the Perfection of Wisdom and other scriptures, 'How does a Bodhisattva who practices the Perfection of Wisdom see the suchness of dependent arising?'" Shouldn't it be explained based on scripture? Beings like us cannot independently explain suchness even based on scripture, because it is difficult to ascertain the meaning of scripture. Although one might speak in that way independently, we can also ascertain the meaning of scripture by relying on the oral instructions of a reliable person who explains the meaning of scripture without perversion. Therefore, it is said, "How does he understand the most profound Dharma? Because it is through scripture and other reasoning, therefore, according to the tenets of the noble Nagarjuna, it should be spoken of according to the way it abides in reality." How does a Bodhisattva who practices the Perfection of Wisdom understand the suchness of dependent arising, the most profound Dharma, through the words of the Sugata and other reasoning? Thus, the noble Nagarjuna, knowing the meaning of scripture without perversion, clearly elucidated the suchness of all phenomena in the treatises of the Middle Way through reasoning and scripture. Therefore, from the tenets of the noble Nagarjuna, having clarified the suchness of phenomena through scripture and reasoning, I shall also speak according to the way it abides in reality. How is it known that the noble Nagarjuna has certainly ascertained the non-perverted meaning of scripture?
