If that is established, then are the meanings of the sutras of direct meaning and the sutras of definitive meaning contradictory or not? If according to the former, how to avoid the fault of self-contradiction in the Buddha's words? If according to the latter, one's own system is reasonable because it is the definitive meaning, but it is not appropriate to refute others by saying that their system is of direct meaning and therefore unreasonable. In that case, the proponents of the four philosophical schools would not become Buddhist proponents, because some have deviated from the meaning of the scriptures. If you say so, there is no fault, because the scriptures of the Tathagata teach non-self, so they surpass the teachings of the outsiders, and the proponents of the four philosophical schools also accept non-self. If so, then how to interpret the statement in the tantras: "Among them, the Vaibhashika school is taught, the Sautrantika school is also the same, the Yogachara school is later than that, and after that the Madhyamaka school is taught."? That is not a statement that the Buddha taught the four philosophical schools to be tamed, but rather that he foresaw that in the future there would be four interpretive philosophical schools in Buddhism, and at that time the teacher should gradually guide students of low intelligence into the teachings in that way. Therefore, each of the four philosophical schools establishes the system of the three vehicles, because the Tathagata taught the three vehicles. The philosophical views other than one's own are merely fabricated by those who accept them, and cannot be regarded as the intention of the Tathagata. Therefore, the statement that the four philosophical schools abide by the intention of the Buddha's words is not established in any of the four philosophical schools, and it is very unreasonable because it contradicts reason. So, which of the four philosophical schools is the intention of the Sugata? Only the system of the noble Nagarjuna is the unerring intention of the Buddha's words, because all the dharmas taught by the Tathagata are based on the two truths, and outside of the system of the noble Nagarjuna, there is no other system that can correctly establish the two truths. Therefore, right here.

In the path of the noble Nagarjuna, it is said: For outsiders, there is no method of pacification. Because all their conventional truths deviate from the ultimate truth. If the two truths are deviated from, liberation will not be achieved. It is said in this way. Furthermore, the Vaibhashika school, which asserts that the three times are substantially existent, and that unconditioned phenomena and non-associated formations are substantially existent; the Sautrantika school, which asserts that consciousness is endowed with aspects, and its cause is latent seeds; the common assertion of both schools that indivisible atoms are true; and the Yogacara school, which asserts that consciousness is true—if these are the intentions of the scriptures, then because they are refuted by reason, the speaker would not be omniscient. If these are not the intentions of the Buddha's words, then how could the tenets of the Yogacara and lower schools be the intentions of the Tathagata? If it is said that these are not the meaning of the definitive sutras, but are the meaning of the provisional sutras, that is not correct. Because the meaning of the provisional sutras is conventional truth, and those uncommon assertions of the Yogacara and lower schools are not even established as conventional truth. Furthermore, the definitive and provisional sutras are taught with different modes of thought depending on the predispositions of the trainees, but there is no contradiction in their intended meaning, because all the words of the Tathagata lead to and converge on suchness. Therefore, to say that the various different and contradictory tenets are the intentions of the definitive and provisional sutras is to speak without discrimination. Thus, the intention of all the scriptures of the Tathagata abides in this single, non-extreme Middle Way. These are, for the moment, the connections of the treatises. What is to be expressed here are the two aspects of profundity and vastness. Among them, profundity is the emptiness of the nature of the two selflessnesses of person and phenomena; vastness is: vast in aspiration, the nature of conventional bodhicitta is great compassion; vast in practice, the nature of ultimate bodhicitta is the ten bhumis of a bodhisattva; vast in result, the three bodies of a Buddha, qualities, activities, and so on. It is like that.
