This can prevent it. Second, refuting that attachment is the cause of suffering: Even so, would extreme attachment to a son become the cause of a father's suffering? Excessive attachment to a son is also unreasonable. Just as a father cherishes his son, the son may not necessarily cherish his father. Therefore, just as worldly people are attached to lower beings such as sons, it is impossible to ascend to attachment to higher beings such as parents. Since attachment is drawn by karma, this world goes from one lower life form to another, so even attaining heaven is difficult, let alone liberation. Therefore, one should value respect and attachment to parents and other teachers. Furthermore, is this attachment to a son for an obedient son or for a disobedient son? If the son does not obey the father and does not listen to the father's teachings, then even if the father is happy, he will not cherish and be attached to the son. If attachment arises to an obedient son, and in response to "he listens to my teachings," then only attachment like trading handprints and body marks will arise, not attachment due to the son's sake. If the father's attachment to the son is constant regardless of obedience, then attachment is not stable. Because the suffering caused by separation from the object of attachment, such as a son, people's hearts quickly change. Therefore, attachment is also unstable, which is obvious. If the bonds of attachment are not loosened, then the suffering it produces will not disappear, and seeing the fruit separated from suffering also indicates that the cause is separated from attachment. Third, refuting worldly mourning practices: If one must mourn according to worldly customs, then even if you know that changing the body and other actions according to worldly conventions will harm yourself and have no benefit, would you still subject yourself to the torment of external pretense? External pretense is the path followed by foolish and deceitful people, so wise people should not do it. Fourth, relationship

Refuting that attachment is the cause of sorrow: If torment has no merit whatsoever, but even so, if one desires to have a connection with beloved ones such as sons, then the torment that arises from that is also unavoidable. If it is said that in this world, due to the influence of afflictions, beings revolve in this and that realm, and other lives become sons and daughters, etc., and then go to the other shore first, then the suffering caused by separation for relatives such as parents is like giving alms, wandering everywhere. If worldly people have no suffering and desire that, is it reasonable to give suffering? What is the use of giving suffering to beings who do not want suffering and are by nature suffering? There is no need whatsoever. Therefore, what wise person would grieve over the separation from sons, etc., who come to cause suffering? Fifth, refuting attachment to being together: If one dislikes separation because it is the cause of suffering, but likes being together because it is the cause of happiness, if that is said. Then, who is it that likes being together, which goes along with suffering? Why is one not also fond of separation? One should be fond of it! Because wherever there is being together, there is inevitably separation, so being together and separation seem to exist simultaneously, because they are interdependent. For example, like the auspicious woman and the dark woman. Therefore, even if being together is the cause of happiness, ultimately it is bad, so one should realize the liberation that is separate from both of these. If it is said that even though separation is certain, one disregards it because the initial time spent together is long. Then, in samsara, for beings endowed with ignorance, the past has no beginning and the future has no end. Both of these are divided by separation. Being together with beloved ones is only momentary, because all conditioned phenomena are momentary. Therefore, what reason is there that you see the momentary being together and are attached to it, but do not see the long separation encompassed by the past and future, and do not feel sorrow for it? Therefore,
