Fifth, the teaching on whether or not Nirvana can be attained by having or not having activity: Because for all things, the agent is reversed and there is no thought, therefore it is easy to attain Nirvana. It is impossible to easily attain the cessation of rebirth by merely engaging in the activities of accepting and rejecting good and evil. It is not appropriate for the wise to abandon Nirvana and seek rebirth, which is obtained by being exhausted by various activities. Sixth, the teaching that those who are weary of samsara can attain Nirvana: If this mind does not have weariness of samsara, how can such a person have faith and respect for peaceful Nirvana? It is like one's own home, even if it has little value, it is difficult to completely cut off attachment. It is also difficult to definitely escape from this existence of samsara. Seventh, the teaching that those who are tormented by suffering cannot attain Nirvana: Some people are overwhelmed by the suffering of disease and poverty, and abandoning attachment to self, they enter fire and water, desiring death. It seems that if they are weary of samsara and seek Nirvana, these people are extremely ignorant, and ultimately they will not go to the sacred state of Nirvana, which means they cannot attain it. Eighth, the teaching on the order of training for three types of individuals, superior, middling, and inferior: Generosity is taught to inferior individuals, morality is taught to middling individuals, and shamatha-vipashyana, etc., are taught to superior individuals. Therefore, always become superior and rejoice in Nirvana. In the beginning, one should not talk about Nirvana to superior individuals, because it is the cause of hundreds of faults and is easy to abandon. Therefore, one should first prevent them from engaging in non-virtuous actions by abandoning nihilistic views. Therefore, in order to loosen attachment to self, one should examine the aggregates, elements, and sense bases in five ways, because there is no self, so one should prevent attachment to self. Later, in order to abandon the attachment to the aggregates, etc., which are separate from self, as merely phenomena, one should prevent all extreme views through the way of emptiness of inherent existence. In this way, this intelligent person will attain Nirvana without grasping. Who can use this order to tame those who are to be tamed?
