Moreover, it is only virtuous, because apart from establishing virtue and vice based on the virtue and non-virtue of motivation, actions such as walking, coming, standing, and moving do not inherently transform into merit and non-merit. Therefore, for all actions of the three doors (body, speech, and mind), the mind is the essence and should be cultivated as the primary focus. Because the nature of the actions of the three doors, propelled by the mind, is established as virtuous or non-virtuous according to the state of the mind. Secondly, the qualities of a Bodhisattva, how they benefit beings, the faults of harboring hatred towards them, the reasons for having faith in them, incidental praise of generosity, and showing other qualities of a Bodhisattva, there are six aspects. Firstly, how all actions transform into goodness, and the merit of generating Bodhicitta, there are two aspects. Firstly, for all actions, the mind is primary, therefore, for those Bodhisattvas who have attained mastery over their minds through thought, all actions of the three doors, whether virtuous actions such as generosity, non-virtuous actions such as evil deeds, or any actions not explicitly stated such as crafts and conduct, all of them transform into goodness, becoming the cause of higher rebirth and definite goodness for beings, because all of these are motivated by the intention to benefit others temporarily and ultimately. If virtuous actions transform into goodness, how do non-virtuous and unstated actions transform into goodness? These also transform into goodness, because Bodhisattvas have the power to control their minds as they wish, not engaging in non-virtue, and being able to engage in virtue at will. Ordinary individuals should not engage in killing and other actions thinking to benefit others, because even if there is some initial virtue, due to not having attained mastery over the mind, the latent tendencies of afflictions such as anger will awaken, and ultimately it may turn into non-virtue. The second aspect has two parts: Firstly, the merit of generating Bodhicitta oneself. From when is one called a Bodhisattva? There are two types of Bodhicitta, conventional and ultimate. The first is characterized by the desire to manifest enlightenment, and lacks the companionship of the six perfections such as generosity.

Secondly, it is associated with the companion of the non-dual wisdom nature that has reached the other shore. Among these, the first exists in all the states of individual ordinary beings from the stage of the first worker to the stage of aspiration and conduct. Those who possess these are called nominal or designated Bodhisattvas. The second is the nature of the ten bhumis, from the first bhumi, Joyful, up to the Cloud of Dharma. Those who possess this are not nominal but are exclusively referred to by the term Bodhisattva, and are therefore called ultimate Bodhisattvas. Because the distinction of the merit of the first arising of the minds of the Bodhisattvas is shown, the remainder will be completely understood, therefore, for the time being, it is explained in order to show the distinction of the merit of the first arising of the mind, the Joyful: By accumulating what merit does one become a wheel-turning monarch, the master of the four continents? If that merit is very great, then what need is there to mention the merit of transforming all beings on earth into wheel-turning monarchs? The merit of all beings on earth becoming wheel-turning monarchs is far superior to the merit of the first bhumi, the Joyful, of a Bodhisattva. This is because it abides as the seed from which all worldly and transmundane roots of virtue arise, and therefore abides as the cause for following all sentient beings as long as samsara exists; while the merit of a wheel-turning monarch only abides as the cause of the happiness of some sentient beings for a short time. Secondly, the merit of causing others to generate the mind of enlightenment: Since the merit of generating one's own mind has been explained, what is the merit of causing others to generate the mind of enlightenment? For the sake of the Buddha, the Bhagavan, some build stupas made of gold, lapis lazuli, and other jewels of seven kinds, with relics as their essence, as high as the Akanishta world, and as wide as the measure of a great trichiliocosm, and hang corresponding umbrellas and jeweled staircases on them, and offer flowers, incense, and dances and songs until the end of the kalpa.
