It is to teach the Dharma starting from the two truths. If someone does not understand the meaning of the scriptures of the Buddhas, they will not attain the state of liberation and omniscience, because the path to liberation and omniscience is the realm that only the Buddhas can tread. As it is said in the Root Verses on the Middle Way: "Those who do not know how to distinguish the difference between these two truths do not understand the profound reality of the Buddha's teachings." And in the Praise to the Middle Way: "Without realizing the absence of characteristics, you say there is no liberation. Therefore, in the Great Vehicle, you have fully explained it." Also, in the Engaging in the Middle Way: "From the path of the noble Nāgārjuna பாத (Sanskrit Devanagari: पाद, Sanskrit Romanization: pāda, Chinese literal meaning: foot), there is no method of pacification for outsiders. For them, the conventional is the truth itself, and those who destroy the two truths have no liberation." And "The conventional truth is the means, and the ultimate truth is born from the means. Those who do not know the difference between these two enter the evil path of wrong thinking." As it is said. Therefore, the teacher Chandrakirti believes that if one does not understand the ultimate truth, one cannot abandon afflictions, and if one does not abandon afflictions, one cannot attain liberation. If one cannot attain liberation by relying on the views of the Mind-Only school and below, what need is there to mention attaining omniscience? While the teacher Lekdenjé and others believe that the views of the two Hearer schools can realize the selflessness of persons, thus attaining liberation, but they cannot abandon the obscurations to knowledge, thus not attaining omniscience. And one cannot attain liberation by relying on the views of the Mind-Only school, because they do not seek the liberation of merely abandoning the self-grasping of persons, and because their own view itself is a great clinging to the self of phenomena, thus they cannot attain the liberation of abandoning both self-graspings. The teacher Chandrakirti believes that the views of the two Hearer schools cannot even realize the selflessness of persons, because their views are merely commonly applied to the impermanence of the aggregates, etc., and even if this can temporarily eliminate the delusion of the permanence of the aggregates, etc., it cannot eliminate the clinging to the aggregates, because it itself is the cause of clinging to the aggregates as appearing as real. Moreover, their

Moreover, the form aggregate is also because it lacks inherent existence. As it is said, in the "Precious Garland of Advice to the King": As long as there is clinging to the aggregates, there is clinging to self. From clinging to self, karma arises again, and from karma, one revolves in samsara again. As it is said. Therefore, what does not harm the cause of something does not harm that thing. For example, sweet and oily substances do not harm phlegm disease. Contemplating the impermanence of the aggregates, etc., does not harm the cause of self-grasping. This is considered a valid cognition of conventional reality here. Furthermore, contemplating the impermanence of the aggregates, etc., cannot eradicate the clinging to the aggregates as self, because both are equally mistaken in engaging with the emptiness, the reality of the aggregates, so their strength is equal. For example, like attachment, which clings to the aggregates as desirable, and hatred, which clings to them as undesirable. This is another valid cognition. If one asks, how is it known that clinging to the aggregates as true is the cause of self-grasping? It is because self-grasping is seen in those who have manifest attachment to the aggregates, and self-grasping is not seen in those who do not have manifest attachment to the aggregates, such as pillars and pots; and it is only in these cases that the terms "cause" and "effect" are used in conventional reality. If realizing the impermanence of the aggregates, etc., cannot abandon self-grasping, then would the Arhats of the Hearers and Solitary Realizers also not have abandoned self-grasping? That is not the case, because the noble Hearers and Solitary Realizers have realized that all phenomena are without inherent existence. Otherwise, like the cessation of desire by non-Buddhists, without an antidote to eradicate self-grasping, they would not be liberated from samsara. And in reality, it would also become more non-Buddhist than this teaching, because they have not realized the precious treasure of the Tathagata's word, the profound truth of dependent origination. As it is said, in the "Letter to a Friend": This dependent origination is the Victorious One's, the precious treasure of the word, the profound truth. And so on. If one says that a person is the aggregates, the worldly Samkhyas, owl-children, naked ones, etc., if they are destroyed, whether existence or non-existence transcends
