Because it is the function of throwing. From name and form to existence, because it is the dependent origination of this life. Thus, the twelve branches that exist in this life also dispel ignorance about the past and future lives. From name and form to feeling, and birth and death, etc., are respectively the fruit thrown by the past life and the fruit of manifest accomplishment. From these, it can be inferred that there is birth in the past life. The three, such as ignorance, and the three, such as craving, are respectively the cause of throwing the birth of the future life and the cause of manifest accomplishment. Therefore, it can be inferred that there is birth in the future life. Just as the twelve branches that exist in this life, how the cause and effect of the past and future lives are separately established, so also the twelve branches of dependent origination of the past and future lives should be regarded in the same way. Thus, like a fire wheel, the principle of the twelve branches of existence revolving without beginning or end can be well understood. As the teacher said: From the three, two arise, from the two, seven arise, from the seven, three arise again, the wheel of existence is that, itself revolves again and again. As it is said. Therefore, the dependent origination with the characteristics mentioned above, by properly contemplating it, in order to show the seeing of the reality of the Dharma, this dependent origination is the word of the Victorious One, the treasure of speech is precious and profound, whoever truly sees this dependent origination, he sees the most excellent Buddha himself. As it is said, therefore, the dependent origination mentioned above is the precious word of the Victorious One, because it is the meaning of the heart essence of all the scriptures. It is profound because it is free from self, other, both, and without cause, therefore it is difficult for others to realize. Therefore, whoever truly sees this dependent origination, he sees the most excellent wisdom of the Buddha himself, because the Buddha is distinguished by the Dharmakaya, and is no different from the reality of dependent origination.

As it is said, in the Sutra of Salu Green Spike: "Whoever knows dependent arising, knows the Dharma. Whoever knows the Dharma, knows the Thus-gone-one." Thus it is proclaimed. Fourth, cultivating the Noble Eightfold Path: Thus, one who is skilled in dependent arising, in order to show that the path focused on the Four Noble Truths will arise, namely, right view, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, right concentration, right action, and right thought, these are the eight limbs of the path. This is to be cultivated for the sake of pacification. Thus it is said. In the root text, due to the influence of the meter, although the order is shown to be confused, if explained in order, it is: the wisdom that fully analyzes with intelligence the meaning realized on the path of seeing, which is right view; the speech that inspires others to speak as one has realized, which is right thought; the right speech that manifests the form of speech that speaks truthfully, which is aroused by thought; the right action that abandons non-actions, which is the boundary of body and speech; the right livelihood of food, clothing, etc., that is in accordance with the Dharma; the right effort of striving in cultivation of the path; the right mindfulness of not forgetting the object of the path; and the right concentration of abiding single-pointedly on that object. These eight are called the eight limbs of the path because they are parts and retinues of the Noble Path in the stage of the path of cultivation. Among them, right view is the limb of complete analysis, because it definitely grasps the suchness experienced in equipoise. Right thought is the limb that makes others understand, because it establishes and arouses speech after realizing it as it is. The three, right speech, etc., are the limbs that make others believe. Among them, with right speech, questions and answers are in accordance with realization, and abundant words are established, so it is known that the yogi's view is pure. With the boundary of right action, the conduct of going, staying, sitting, and lying down is complete, so it is known that the discipline is pure. With right livelihood, seeking Dharma robes, etc., as they appear, one believes that the livelihood is pure.
