Furthermore, effort is a limb for purifying the obscurations of afflictions, because by initiating diligence, one abandons all remaining secondary afflictions. Mindfulness is a limb for purifying the obscurations of near afflictions, because by not forgetting the characteristics of correct calm abiding, etc., one prevents the occurrence of near afflictions such as sinking and agitation. Samadhi is a limb for purifying the obscurations to special qualities, because through samadhi, one can manifest and accomplish qualities such as clairvoyance. These are also explained in the Madhyantavibhāga: "That which thoroughly investigates and understands, The three kinds of others generate faith, Their antidotes to opposing factors, Are these eight limbs of the path." Therefore, these are to be meditated upon in order to attain peaceful nirvana. Fifth, the object of the truth of the path, which is the teaching of the noble truths: "This birth is suffering, called craving. That is its origin, extremely vast. Its cessation is liberation, the path, To attain it are the eight limbs of the noble path." As it is said, the nature of the arising of the five aggregates of grasping is suffering. As it is said in the sutra, "In short, the five aggregates of grasping are suffering." Craving, which is attachment to the contaminated aggregates, is the origin of suffering. As it is said in the sutra, "What is the noble truth of the origin of suffering? It is craving, which has the nature of arising, accompanied by delight and attachment, and the state of greatly delighting in it." Because it is the cause of all births in samsara, it is extremely vast. The complete cessation of all these sufferings is the truth of cessation, which is liberation, and the path to attain it is the eight limbs of the noble path just mentioned. In order to connect it to the path of attaining nirvana, therefore, in this way, in order to see the four noble truths, one should always strive diligently. As it is said, in order to know what is to be known, what is to be abandoned, what is to be realized, and what is to be cultivated, the four truths mentioned above are such, so you too, in order to see the suchness of those four noble truths, should always practice the path.

One should strive to practice meditation. These four are called noble truths because they exist as they are in the conventional realm, just as correct terms are called noble terms. Or, these are called noble truths because they are seen as they are by the noble ones. Sixth, seeing the truth depends on personal effort, so one should not be discouraged: How can we householders who are in the royal position see the truth? Answer: Even householders who have glory in their laps can cross the river of afflictions with knowledge. As it is said in the scriptures: Whoever has the glory of the throne in his lap, or the householder king like King Firm Intent who has the perfect glory of sons, etc., can also see the truth with correct knowledge, thereby crossing the river of afflictions. King, you should do the same. The noble path should be accomplished by personal effort. It is also said in the scriptures: Those who have realized the Dharma, have not fallen from the sky, nor have they grown from the ground like crops. Those who have realized the Dharma, have not fallen from the sky, nor have they grown from the ground like crops, they were originally just ordinary people bound by afflictions. It means that no matter how many noble ones have realized the Four Noble Truths, they were not already noble from the beginning, falling from the sky, or growing from the ground like crops. They were originally just ordinary people bound by afflictions, controlled by afflictions, and later relied on virtuous friends, practiced the path, and became noble ones. Therefore, you should also strive to practice the path without being discouraged. Seventh, briefly giving advice: Fearless, no need to say more. Beneficial advice, the essence is this: May you tame your mind, the Blessed One said: The mind is the root of the Dharma. It means that because there is no fear of others' rebuttals, the king is called fearless, no need to persuade too much, because of the unwholesome. The beneficial advice in the temporary and ultimate sense, the essence or the main thing is: May you turn your mind from unwholesome to wholesome
