This is for the decline of land use, life, and virtuous Dharma. Sixth, the advice to abide in contentment: Among all wealth, contentment, The teacher of gods and humans said is supreme, Always cultivate contentment, Even without wealth, it is true wealth. Thus it is said, among all wealth such as gold, that is, transcending their enjoyment without greed, without strong desire for the future, without excessive attachment to the present, this nature of contentment is the most supreme, the teacher of gods and humans, the Buddha Bhagavan, said so. As the *Devapuccha Sutra* says: Even if there is not a bit of food, If one abides in generosity, The Sugata says that is a great wealth, Those who see the truth say so. Therefore, one should always be content, and if one is content, even without a bit of wealth such as gold, it is true wealth, because the necessity of wealth is contentment. Having thus proclaimed the virtues of contentment, in order to show the faults of non-contentment: Deva, how does much wealth cause suffering, Those with small desires are not like that, How many heads do the best of dragons have, The suffering arising from that is also so much. Thus it is said, because it is pleasant to be with, the king is called Deva. Like many possessions such as gold, as the *Bodhicaryavatara* says: Accumulating, guarding, and losing, Know that suffering is endless, Thus it is said, the initial, middle, and final order is the suffering of accumulating, guarding, and losing. How is it suffering? Those with small desires are not so suffering. For example, the best of dragons, the kings of dragons have seven, three, one, etc. heads, and the suffering arising from that is also so much. Or, however many heads the king of dragons has, there are that many crest jewels, and however many jewels there are, there is that much suffering in guarding them. Ninth, the method of relying on one's own family after knowing their faults and virtues is, self-nature

Like a butcher who colludes with enemies, a shrew who despises the household, and a thief who steals even small things, these three kinds of wives should be abandoned. It is said. That is, one who associates with a natural enemy, wanting to kill the household like a butcher; one who does not respect the household and despises it like a shrew; and one who steals even small amounts of wealth, let alone large amounts, like a thief, these three kinds of wives should be abandoned. Then, what kind of wives should be cherished? Like a sister, one who is agreeable; like a friend, one who is dear to the heart; like a mother, one who wants to be helpful; and like a servant, one who is obedient, should be revered like a deity of the family. It is said. Just as a sister is agreeable to her brother and does not contradict his words, so too, a wife who is agreeable to her husband; just as a friend is dear to the heart and makes one happy with the distinction of respect and service, so too, a wife who is dear to her husband's heart; just as a mother wants to benefit her child by wanting to be free from the suffering of body and mind, so too, a wife who wants to benefit her husband; and just as a servant is obedient and can be controlled, so too, a wife who is obedient to her husband, these are the causes of the family not declining, and should be revered or cherished like a deity of the family. Thirdly, for both renunciates and householders, there are three instructions for practicing the Dharma of higher realms and definite goodness: practicing the common Dharma, especially practicing the Dharma of definite goodness, and making the attainment of that basis meaningful. The first has six aspects, the first of which is knowing the measure of food: Now, in order to apply it to samadhi, the practice of meditation is taught. There are two Dharmas that are cherished for meditation: knowing the measure of food and striving not to sleep. Among them, with regard to knowing the measure of food: Food should be taken like medicine, with wisdom, without attachment or hatred, not for the sake of fatness, not for the sake of pride, not for the sake of beauty, but only for the sake of maintaining the body. It is said. Eating food is like taking medicine, as an antidote to diseases of imbalance, neither too much nor too little, but taking it in moderation.
