Through observation, the wisdom of seeing reality as it is arises, and from that, liberation from afflictions is attained. Third, specifically advising to abide in the six perfections of the Mahayana path: Thus, first, having completely tamed one's mind-stream with the ten virtues and generosity and discipline, thereafter, in order to show that one should properly train in the six perfections of the Great Vehicle path, it is said: Generosity, discipline, patience, diligence, meditation, and likewise, wisdom, immeasurable, gone to the other shore. Increase these, become the lord of the victorious ones who have crossed to the other shore of the ocean of existence. Thus it is said, generosity, which is the complete giving away of all possessions such as body and enjoyments, possessed by the mind of enlightenment and the wisdom that does not conceptualize the three spheres; and diligence, which is the joy of virtuous deeds; and meditation, which is the one-pointedness of mind on virtue; and wisdom, which is the knowledge of reality as it is. Because they are possessed by the mind of enlightenment, they are immeasurable because they are not the objects of practice of hearers and solitary realizers, and because they have reached the limit of wisdom by not conceptualizing the three spheres, they are also called gone to the other shore. Increase these, that is, cultivate them in a way that goes from higher to higher, and having crossed the ocean of existence yourself, become the lord of the victorious ones who also cause others to cross, that is, attain Buddhahood. Among these, generosity, discipline, and patience are the accumulation of merit, and when a Bodhisattva abides in samsara, they accomplish the perfect happiness of higher realms, and when they attain perfect Buddhahood, they are the cause of the form body that accomplishes the welfare of others. Thus it is also said in the Madhyamakavatara: These three dharmas, such as generosity, are mostly praised by the Sugatas to householders, this is the accumulation called merit, the cause of the Buddha's form body. Thus it is said. Meditation and wisdom are the accumulation of wisdom, and when a Bodhisattva abides in samsara, they are not defiled by the faults of samsara, and are the cause of leading others, and when they attain perfect Buddhahood, they are the dharmakaya that accomplishes the welfare of oneself.

is the cause. As it says in the Ratnavali, "The Rupakaya of the Buddhas is born from the accumulation of merit. The Dharmakaya, in brief, is born from the accumulation of wisdom." As it is said. Diligence is the cause of both accumulations. As it says in the Bodhicaryavatara, "All qualities follow diligence. Merit and wisdom are the cause of the two accumulations. Wherever diligence blazes, that fourth ground is called 'Radiant'." As it is said. Thus, the six perfections gather the two accumulations, and the two accumulations also accomplish all the perfections of the state of a Bodhisattva's samsara and nirvana, without lacking anything. Therefore, all the paths of the Mahayana are gathered into the six perfections. Secondly, there are nine main instructions for householders, the first of which is to respect parents: "The family that worships father and mother, that family has Brahma, and also has a teacher. Worshipping them brings fame, and in the future, they will also be born in heaven." As it is said, the family that worships parents with respect, that family is free from harm done by humans and non-humans, blessed by the gods and has Brahma, blessed by the excellence of the guru and has a teacher, the merit of this life also brings fame, and the merit of the next life also obtains all heavens in the other world, therefore those who live at home should strive to serve their parents. As it is said. Secondly, to abide in the Uposatha: It is difficult for householders to constantly practice celibacy, so in order to practice celibacy for one day and one night, the eight-limbed Uposatha is taught: "Non-harming, stealing, sexual misconduct, lying, alcohol, attachment to untimely food, delight in high beds and songs, abandoning garlands and ornaments, following the Arhat's discipline, possessing these eight limbs, the Uposatha bestows desired enjoyments, a heavenly body that is pleasing to the mind, which men and women can obtain." As it is said, non-harming means not killing, stealing
