It will be transformed. First, the result will mature in the very life in which the karma was created, like the Jataka tales of the bear and the deer king Ruru. Second, it will mature in the next life, like the karma of the five inexpiable sins. Third, it will mature from the second life onwards. Regarding karma that is experienced after birth, it is said: Some who have committed sinful deeds, although they are not cut like a sword at that moment, when the time of death comes, the result of the sinful deed will become manifest. It is said that although committing sinful deeds does not cut or cause suffering like touching a sharpened sword at that moment, when the time of death comes, the signs of suffering from regret and being harmed by the unpleasant Yama's messengers, etc., will become manifest and known as the result of sinful deeds. As it is said in the Bodhisattvacharyavatara: "With a face swollen with sorrow, red eyes shedding tears, cut off from hope of relatives, looking at the face of the messengers of Yama, tormented by remembering one's own sins, and hearing the sounds of hell, what shall one do when one's body is soiled with impurity from fear and one becomes intoxicated?" As it appears. Fourth, to possess the wealth of the noble ones, thus separating from worldly dharmas, wishing to establish oneself in the noble dharma: Faith, discipline, generosity, and learning, stainless shame, modesty, and wisdom are said by the Buddha to be the seven noble riches. Understand that other ordinary riches are meaningless. That is, faith that completely believes and rejoices in karma, truth, and the Three Jewels, discipline that properly takes up abandoning faults, generosity that gives away possessions with the desire to make offerings and benefit others, and learning that listens to the holy dharma that is in accordance with liberation with the intention of knowing everything, and that is without the defilement of desiring gain, respect, and fame, etc. Because one possesses such qualities as discipline and learning, one thinks that one should not do evil deeds, and thus being ashamed to do wrong out of consideration for oneself is shame, and because doing evil deeds is condemned in both dharma and the world, if someone hears that I have done evil deeds, I will be blamed.

The shame of considering oneself virtuous and being mindful of the faults of others, and the wisdom to distinguish the self and common characteristics of all dharmas. These seven dharmas are the seven noble riches, as spoken by the Able One (Shakyamuni Buddha), because they are the cause of uncontaminated bliss and are unique. The other ordinary things called wealth in the world, such as gold, are not the cause of pacifying afflictions and are common. Know that they are meaningless, just accumulating and wasting, and are worthless. Fifth, abandoning the obstacles to the noble wealth: Having explained accumulating the noble wealth in this way, in order to teach the method of not wasting it, (the sutra) says: "Gambling and watching gatherings, laziness, relying on sinful friends, drinking alcohol and wandering at night are the root of falling into evil destinies, and will lose fame, these six should be abandoned." It means abandoning gambling, watching the majority of people gathered at festivals and other gatherings, laziness that is not interested in virtuous deeds, relying on sinful friends who increase non-virtue when associating with them, drinking alcohol, and wandering between houses and villages at night. These six are the cause of falling into evil destinies in the future and losing fame in this life, so they should be abandoned. Because relying on them will lead to the decline of enjoyment, lifespan, and virtuous dharmas. Sixth, advising to abide in contentment, which is a favorable condition: The sutra says: "Among all riches, contentment is the best, as the teacher of gods and humans said. One should always be content, and if one is content, even without wealth, one is truly rich." It means that among all riches such as gold, that is, transcending them without craving enjoyment, without desire for the future, and without particular attachment to the present, contentment itself is the best and most excellent, as said by the teacher of gods and humans, Shakyamuni Buddha. As it is said in the Sutra Requested by Despa: "Even if one has nothing, if one abides in giving, one is the great wealth of the world, as said by those who see reality." Therefore, one should always be content, and if one is content, even without gold and so on.
