One should make the mind disgusted with (desires), because desires initially make one happy, but ultimately make one suffer. As the King (Buddha) said, for example, the Kimpa fruit has a good outer skin but a bad interior. Furthermore, desires are also the cause of being bound in samsara, so they should also be abandoned. As it is said in the scriptures, with its iron chains, this world is bound in the prison of samsara. Therefore, it should also be abandoned, because those iron chains of desire tightly bind this world in the prison of samsara. Thus, guarding the mind towards objects requires cutting off the senses. In order to generate joy in this, praise for taming the senses: Those who have the six senses towards the objects, Constantly unstable, moving, and whatever, From those who conquer the enemy hosts on the battlefield, The wise are the first and foremost heroes to be revered. As it is said, any person whose six senses, such as the eyes, towards objects such as forms, are constantly meeting and changing, therefore unstable, and those who move with the desire for objects, are well tamed by the antidote, and those who bravely and patiently conquer the many enemies on the battlefield of battle, the wise consider that the one who first conquers the senses is the most supreme hero, because even animals such as lions have won many battles, but have not conquered the senses. Third, contemplate the faults of the object of attachment and the attached one. Previously it was said, one should truly contemplate impurity. So, how should one truly contemplate impurity? The body of a young woman should be viewed separately, Smelling foul and flowing with nine orifices, Like a vessel of all impurities, difficult to fill, Covered with skin and ornaments should also be viewed separately. As it is said, the body of a young woman smells foul, the nine orifices that flow with impure things are exposed, filled with various impure substances such as feces, like a vessel of all impurities, no matter how much food and drink is consumed, it cannot be satisfied, without substance, merely wrapped in skin, therefore it is not a place of attachment. However, if one is attached because of fragrance and decoration, then such a body should also be viewed separately. (Fragrance and) decoration

Furthermore, look at it from another perspective, and there will be no attachment. As it says in the Bodhisattvacharyavatara: "The scent applied to the body, if it is sandalwood, etc., then it is acceptable, but if not, then why would other scents cause others to be attached?" Just like it says. Having thus pointed out the faults of the objects, in order to show that no matter how much one indulges in desires, one cannot be satisfied, that is, the faults of attachment to objects, just as it says in the sutra: "Like a leper tormented by worms, who relies on fire for the sake of happiness, but cannot find peace, similarly, know that attachment to desires is also like that." Just as it says, like a leper tormented by being eaten by worms, who completely relies on fire for the sake of happiness, but that cannot stop the suffering, but rather makes the suffering more intense, similarly, the attachment of foolish people to desires is also relying on external objects in order to eliminate the suffering of desires, but that cannot stop the suffering, but rather only makes the suffering more intense. Know that it is like this. The Ratnavali also says: "Scratching an itch feels pleasant, but it is more pleasant to have no itch. Similarly, the world has the pleasure of desire, but the pleasure of having no desire is superior to that." Just like it says. Second, the method of abandoning together with the seeds has six aspects, the first, the main text is: The contemplation of impurity, etc., mentioned above, is only temporarily suppressing desire, but it is not eradicating it from the root. Wanting to abandon together with the seeds, one should cultivate this path, in order to explain this, it says in the sutra: "In order to see the true meaning, in all things, one should cultivate this practice of proper attention, which is endowed with such qualities that other dharmas do not have." Just as it says, because it is the realm of noble wisdom, therefore it is the true meaning, in order to observe the undeluded reality of all dharmas with the eye of wisdom, one should observe external and internal things such as form with correct wisdom, and cultivate it, one should cultivate proper attention through repeated manifestation. Like this, other dharmas that have the qualities of subduing afflictions and generating antidotes do not exist in the world.
