Therefore, because it is unfailing in all respects and exists as it is. This cannot be known by the mind or expressed by words. As it is said: "What is to be said is reversed, because the sphere of activity of the mind is reversed." This has already been said. All Madhyamikas agree that the ultimate truth is without appearance and does not abide in any extreme. As the scholar Lekdenjé said in the Essence of the Middle Way: "Just as when the eyes are free from cataracts, hairs, flies, double moons, and peacock feathers do not appear to pure, stainless eyes, so too, when the wise are free from all obscurations of afflictions and objects of knowledge, nothing whatsoever appears to the stainless eye of perfect wisdom." The scholar Yeshe Nyingpo also said: "The all-knowing one who knows existent and non-existent things does not see anything at all. What is its nature? Examine it with extremely subtle wisdom." And again: "Because in that very reality, there is no trace of anything to be expressed." In the Teaching on Inconceivable Intelligence, it is also said: "What is the ultimate truth? What need is there to mention letters when there is no movement of the mind?" The meaning of this is also the same. Secondly, regarding the meaning of the limbs, there are five points: the distinction between the two truths, the faults of not understanding them, the necessity of teaching the conventional truth, the faults of wrongly grasping emptiness, and the difficulty of realizing emptiness. The first is: "The Buddhas teach the Dharma..." and so on, one verse. As it is said in the Meeting of Father and Son Sutra: "The Knower of the World, without hearing from others, teaches by these two truths. What is conventional and what is ultimate, there is no third truth." Thus, all the teachings taught by the Buddha Bhagavan proceed based on the two truths. What are these two truths? They are the worldly conventional truth and the truth of ultimate meaning. Among them, in order to ripen those trainees who are not yet ripe, the sutras of interpretable meaning are taught starting from the conventional truth, and in order to liberate those who are ripe, the sutras of definitive meaning are taught starting from the ultimate truth.
