(Tibetan, seed syllable) Furthermore, one must understand correct conventional truth. What is not correct is merely conceptually imputed, as it is said. Moreover, even within the appearance of non-conceptual wisdom, there is a distinction between correct and incorrect conventional truths. The first is: the appearance of wisdom that is not tainted by the cause of delusion, such as fire and water, which can function as they appear. The second is: the appearance of wisdom that is deluded, such as illusions, dreams, and mirages, which cannot function as they appear. As it is said: Although appearances are similar, their functions differ. Due to the ability or inability to function, A distinction is made between correct and incorrect, Conventional truths. Thus it is explained. According to the view of this teacher, it seems that he believes that the forms and so on, which are considered correct conventional truths, do not depend on mental imputation, but arise and cease by their own nature and are not deceptive in their function. If this is the case, then like the Vaibhashikas, because they accept that dependent origination is established by its own nature, the term "conventional" becomes merely a name, and in reality, it becomes an acceptance of the ultimate truth. If it is said that it is conventional because it is not truly existent when analyzed by reason, then accepting that dependent origination arises by its own nature and then refuting it as unborn by reason is like smashing a vase with a hammer, it will become a nihilistic emptiness, not a correct emptiness. As it is said: In the Entering the Middle Way it says: If self-nature arises dependently, Then it is destroyed by refuting it, Therefore, emptiness becomes the cause of destroying entities, That is not reasonable, therefore it does not exist. Thus it is explained. The Sutra also says: འོད་སྲུང་། (Tibetan, name of a person, Od Srung) Emptiness does not make phenomena empty, but phenomena themselves are emptiness. And so on. If it is said that the arising and ceasing of forms and so on are merely appearances to a deluded mind, so it is not accepted that they are established by their own nature, then how are the arising, ceasing, and functioning of forms and so on merely appearances to a deluded mind? Illusions and so on are also appearances of arising, ceasing, and functioning to a deluded mind, so how can a distinction be made between correct and incorrect for them? If both are the same in being appearances of a deluded mind,

If one clings to and names things based on the perception that worldly appearances are deceptive and non-deceptive, and thus distinguishes between right and wrong, then the conventional truth becomes merely a fabrication of worldly customs and names, devoid of any meaning to be examined. Whatever arises merely in dependence on things should not be called the true conventional truth. Therefore, this view of the essence of wisdom, although approved by teachers such as Śāntarakṣita and Haribhadra, is not without flaws. Second, establishing the nature of the ultimate: In the sūtra "Revealing the Conventional and Ultimate Truths," it says: "Son of the gods, if the ultimate truth were truly to become an object of body, speech, and mind, it would not belong to the category of the ultimate, but would become the conventional truth. Son of the gods, however, the ultimate truth is beyond all names, truly unborn, unceasing, unspeakable, and separate from knowledge and the knowable. As long as it transcends the realm of the omniscient wisdom that possesses the supreme of all aspects, that is the ultimate truth." As stated in the *Entering the Middle Way*: "Like hairs, etc., seen by the power of cataracts, which are falsely imagined, that nature is not seen by those with pure eyes; thus, know it here." Just as those whose eyes are obscured by cataracts see various things such as hairs and long-beaked flies in bowls and other containers, and fabricate various differences in color and shape that depend on them, and then take pains to eliminate them, those without cataracts, even if they fix their eyes on the objects seen by those with cataracts, do not see any essence or difference of hairs, etc. Similarly, the various phenomena such as aggregates, elements, and sense bases seen by ordinary people whose minds are impaired by the cataracts of ignorance are not seen at all by the wisdom of the noble ones. Seeing in this way is called the suchness of all dharmas, the ultimate truth. Why is it called the ultimate? Because it is the supreme object of the wisdom of the noble ones. Why is it called truth?
