For you, the arising that causes harm does not exist. If one admits that suffering has inherent existence, then cessation is also unreasonable. If suffering exists by its own nature, then cessation does not exist. Because inherent existence is completely present, it harms cessation. If suffering exists by its own nature, since inherent existence does not change, the cessation of suffering does not exist. Thus, because inherent existence is completely present, completely clinging to inherent existence and trying to reverse it also harms the cessation of suffering. Similarly, for those who say that things have inherent existence, the noble path is also unreasonable. If the path has inherent existence, then cultivation is not reasonable. If the path is to be cultivated, then your inherent existence does not exist. If things have inherent existence, then at that time the path has inherent existence, and even if it is not cultivated, it exists, so cultivating the path is not reasonable. If one admits that the path is to be cultivated, then your noble path will not have inherent existence, because it is something that can be acted upon. Furthermore, when suffering, arising, and cessation do not exist, what cessation of suffering does the path want to attain? The path is cultivated in order to attain the cessation of suffering and to abandon arising. When, for those who say that things have inherent existence, suffering, arising, and cessation do not exist in the way previously described, what cessation of suffering does the path want to attain? Therefore, the noble path is also unreasonable. Secondly, for those who say that things have inherent existence, completely knowing suffering, etc., also does not exist, like this: If inherent existence itself cannot be completely known, then how can it be completely known? Is inherent existence not permanent? If the inherent existence of suffering was previously of a nature that could not be completely known by inherent existence, then how can it be completely known later? This is unreasonable. Why? Is inherent existence not permanent? That is, whatever inherent existence is, like the heat of fire, it truly exists in the world. Therefore, suffering

Complete knowledge is impossible. Similarly, for you, abandonment and realization, as well as cultivation (and the four fruits), are also impossible like complete knowledge, it should be connected like that. Just as suffering cannot be completely known, as you say things have intrinsic nature, then abandoning the origin, realizing cessation, and cultivating the path are also impossible. Like this, if the intrinsic nature of the origin is not blocked, then later abandonment is also unreasonable, because intrinsic nature is irreversible. Realization and cultivation also apply. Third, for those who say things have intrinsic nature, not only complete knowledge etc. are impossible, but the four fruits are also impossible like complete knowledge. Just as suffering cannot be completely known because of its intrinsic nature, therefore it is impossible to be completely known, the four fruits such as stream-enterer, if they were not intrinsically existent before, then later existence is also impossible. Not only are the four fruits impossible, but obtaining them is also impossible, like this: That which is completely grasped by intrinsic nature, By the fruit's own intrinsic nature, Whatever is not obtained, How can there be the power to obtain? For those who admit intrinsic nature, if the four fruits are any fruits that were not obtained by intrinsic nature before, then how can there be the power to obtain later? Because intrinsic nature is irreversible, it is completely grasped in all aspects. Therefore, if there are no fruits, then there are no fruit-holders, stream-enterers etc. also do not exist. If there are no eight types of individuals, then the Sangha also does not exist. This meaning should be understood as previously stated in the opponent's argument. Second, the Dharma Jewel is unreasonable, because there are no noble truths, so the supreme Dharma also does not exist. This is also easy to understand. Third, the Buddha Jewel is unreasonable, in which there are two types: direct argument and showing other ways of refutation, the first is: if the Dharma and Sangha do not exist, then how can the Buddha exist? This meaning has also been stated before. The second is: Furthermore, if you admit intrinsic nature, then your Buddha's enlightenment will also become independent of Bodhi. Your Bodhi will also become independent of the Buddha.
